  6. I just recv'd word that my new 18oz Cocobolo Bear Maul is complete and in the mail. Very excited, Thank You, Kevin
  7. I've never used the mop n glow method, however I've seen similar results with neat-lac in the spray can. I found that it was due to excess finish, I've since started working the neat-lac in with a piece of wool and then wipe off any excess. Kevin
  8. Sorry I should have mentioned it. They are small folding knife sheaths/cases. I found a really good deal on a couple of Swiss Army knifes. I got them so my kids could give them to 2 of their uncles for Christmas. Thank you, Kevin
  9. Top notch, beautiful work. Kevin
  10. I decided to shorten my Christmas "to-do" list this afternoon. 4/5oz Veg - vinegaroon - python - black lace. They are a bit mottled looking in the pics, aside from my poor photography, its some beeswax n oil I need to buff in better. The vinegaroon was a first for me, I did them with a dauber 2x coats and let them dry over last night. No bath, hardly smells, beautiful black. Enjoy, Kevin
  11. forgive my weak drawing skills, hopefully this illustrates what I mean.
  12. in just looking at this for the first time, to me it looks like a single piece of round lace twice and long as the length of the wire, hold one end twist the other, double it from the middle, it should twist together. The barbs look like 2 pieces 1 shorrt about 1.5 inches and the other long enough so one tag end sticks out while you wrap it back over itself, the short piece and the twisted pair then feed the other end back trough forming the fourth point on the barb. i could be way off. Kevin
  13. That's awesome! Kevin
  14. I just try to use the same amount on the sheepskin or whatever I'm using get the light coat as even as possible and then let the piece sit as though it was drying and the oil generally evens itself out. Kevin
  15. I had some of the similar questions, here is the thread where some answers are: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=34171&st=0&p=211760&fromsearch=1entry211760

  18. I looked on their site, I didn't see any. Do they have more than their site suggests or did i overlook it? Thanks a ton, Kevin
  19. I want to try Fiebings Antique paste. TLF doesn't carry it here. Anyone know of a reputable supplier in Canada? Thank you, Kevin
  20. Thanks for the kind offer, I'd really like to craft it myself. Would you be open to sharing your pattern?
  21. I've been trying to pick up odd jobs to fund my hobby, and a gent from another province has asked me to craft a holster for a Henry Mare's Leg. I haven't suggested that I can complete the request as of yet as I don't think having the actual firearm is a possibility. I was wondering if anyone had a pattern for one already that they were willing to share details on, even for a fee. From their description, they're looking for an enclosed holster, unlike the leg holster I've seen on the forum here before with the hook and clip. I'm not opposed to telling them I can't do it without their firearm, but if I can complete it I'd really like to as it sounds like a fun project. Thanks, Kevin
  22. Thanks a ton all for the suggestions, I wish a new company that cared about their products and were reasonable would rise up and make all this stuff and make it with some sort of pride. Thank you all, Kevin
  23. Thanks for the suggestion, i'll definitely explore other options going forward. I'm still faced with this project in the mean time, there must be people using the craftool stamps. Just looking for any tips to get by at least this project. Kevin
