  1. Here are some more of the items i've recently picked up. Some of which I've never seen before.
  2. I like the finish on this a lot. I don't even try finish like this yet. Good for you.
  3. Welcome! I like your projects - I too make a lot of practical items!!
  4. 3 diff widths, all very thin film. This came in a large lot of leather stuff I purchased. Is it for leather work?
  5. I was pleasantly surprised to find this in a really large lot of stuff I bought today. There wasn't supposed to be any tools amongst it, however there were a few random tools including this: (it's very smooth) I'll sort through the rest and post some more later. (I tried to edit the title to capitalize USA but it wouldn't accept the changes)
  6. Thanks for the feedback. Greatly appreciated as usual. Kevin
  7. I'm with KX, those are really cool. The colors are awesome and if they look better than the pics, better on you, cause they look great.
  8. made by Robert Sorby Sheffield England. Date 1917 and name are stamped on the blade. The blade is pretty picked and rusty and has a few chips out of the edge. I was curious if this item was worth anything in terms of money, but more so in terms of cleaning it up and putting a new edge on it for use. I'd also be interested in any history you may have. Thank you, Kevin
  9. Between Summer (if you can call it that) 2 small children and a promotion...I wonder when I'll be able to find some time and inspiration to pound away at some leather...

  10. Oddly enough the other day when I was cleaning out my car to sell it, I found a bottle and the same thought crossed my mind.
  11. They are both really nice - awesome idea with the built in sheath. I don't know what you do with all this stuff, but I sure wish there was demand for it around here!! Something cool to add to my list for sure. Thanks as always for sharing and inspiring. Kevin
  12. I really like and envy the tooling! I think the lace should have been done opposite. It looks like the back side of the lacing is out on that project. Just my opinion.
  13. Before LW.net I was not involved with any forum to much of a degree so I don't know if there are certain prereqs, protocol or netiquette to meet before adding another member of the forum to your friends list. I've often considered adding someone to my friends list because I really enjoy their posts or products, however, that seems one sided. I don't want to offend anyone. What are your thoughts? Kevin
  14. wow, this stuff is very impressive. I can't get over it, thanks so much for sharing.
  15. That should add about 5 horsepower... Very cool!
  16. When you say fun, do you mean fun fun or as in it will be a challenge? And thank you for the reference, i'll read them thoroughly again.
  17. Hi everyone, I have been really busy lately, (kids and new job) and even when I get a few mins to sit down to work on some leather, I have been somewhat uninspired or motivated. I don't have "clients" so when i make things it's usually for personal use or a gift. I haven't had any bdays or anything in some time so I haven't been up to much really at all. Anyway, I got to thinking about Christmas and gifts (I know I know)but before we know it , it will be here. I want to make a tamborine case for my mother in law. I was thinking the closest thing I've seen on here would be similar to a rope can. I was looking for some guidance and instruction. I'd like to lace it, give it handles or a strap and tool the front and back face. I'm just not sure of the design stage. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Kevin
  18. Those are beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  22. Dye that green and it could double in your "Frankenstein" line. I really like it, That opens up some options for hides with natural scars or cuts. Very cool.
  23. Very nice. Molding and stitching as clean as it gets. I'm curious what spacing you use, how you make your holes and what size/type of thread you use.
  24. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=32256&st=0&p=200859&hl=window&fromsearch=1entry200859 There was another recent topic on this, here is the link.
