Fun with Orange
Myriam replied to TomSwede's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
Oh man, this is a neat effect! Love it! Gee, Tom, you sure have it when it comes to being creative! I'm saving this one in my tips/ideas file. Thanks for sharing! -
Very beautiful work, all around. I'm sure she'll be very proud of wearing it. Yup, roo is really nice to work with. Since I started using it, I don't want to use calf lace anymore!

Wow, neat pain effect! Does make the mask look real. Good work, roo!

Nice looking! I like.

Can I rescue an old leather top on a table?
Myriam replied to LadyJ's topic in Furniture: Inlays and Upholstery
I once restored a dried up headstall with Dr. Jackson's Hide Rejuvenator. Didn't fix the few cracks that were in there but the leather became supple again. You have to apply several light coats, letting it soak in between applications. In regards to your table, how bad is the damage? How is the leather finished? Does it look like it has some kind of lacquer on it? A close up picture of the table top would help. If the leather is finished with a lacquer, you would need to take that off first so the conditioner could soak in the leather. -
Lovely intricate work here. Well designed and well done!

My Gargoyle purse is finished
Myriam replied to Tina's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Girl, you got it working alright! Such a beautiful purse. Love it! Geez, I don't use a purse but I'd like to have it just so I could admire it for real! It's such beautiful work you do. No wonder you won those awards at the show. I had no doubt whatsoever that you would And thanks for the pics of the inside. I was wondering how you did it in there. Pretty neat! Hope you won't mind, but I saved the pictures in my ideas folder for future reference. Don't want to copy, but I'm sure they'll be handy for inspiration. -
Grim subject, but extraordinary interpretation and realization! Great job again, Tina! And don't put the lacing out yet, you did a super great job on your first. Only thing I see wrong is where you probably started/ended, but that'll come with practice. Let me know if you'd like a tutorial on that. Took me a while to figure it out so I'll be more than happy to share what I've learned.

Have you tried Ohio Travel Bag? They have a whole bunch of hardware and most likely the one you're looking for.

Love the design, love the stamping, love the colors, love everything about it! I'm sure she's going to be real proud to wear it. Really cool work, Tom!

Cool, thanks for the update, Johanna! Four blue ribbons for Tina? Way cool! Hurray for Tina!!! -
Oh my... brrrrr... feels hot and cold. Hot from the fires of hell and shivering down my spine from the spookiness! Love the way you did the coloring. Great job, Spider!
-
Welcome to the forum, Joe! Took a look at your website and I'm impressed. Lots of different designs and all have that professionally made look. If I was looking for a bracelet, I'd have a hard time choosing only one from what you offer, they all look so good!

Wow, absolutely beautiful! Great job, Pip!

Both look great, but I really dig the dragon one. Can hardly wait to see it completed!

Man, these are neat! *moves 'getting an airbrush' higher on the list of priorities*
-
Wow! Great job, Tom! He's so cute!

Great job, Spider! I like 'em all!

TwinOaks - Thanks, Mike. I took a look at my tutorial and I have a string attached, even though it's on the side that's just been braided. I reckon it's not really visible, should have used a contrasting color I guess. *takes note to use contrasting thread next time so it shows better* Thanks for the tip, Mike, and glad you like! Beaverslayer - Thanks, Beaver. Glad you like it. Yup, now you gotta have a dog indeed, not other way around Gibbsleatherworks - Nice hands... well... thank you And thanks for the comments! Leatheroo, Pip and SkipJ - Thanks!

Thanks again, Johanna. I sure am glad to see I'm not the only one forgetting things sometimes. I just finished a braiding tutorial and at the beginning, I kept cutting the wrong lengths of lace and finding out only after braiding for a while. Dang, had to start over three times!

I was asked to create a tutorial on how to braid a dog leash. I just completed it and thought I'd share it with you too. It's up on my site and here's the link: Braided dog leash tutorial Enjoy! Oh and, any tips, comments, critiques are welcome, as usual. Always want to improve my work

Johanna, I've moved my site. The server it was on just hasn't been reliable enough lately. The new URL is: http://myriam.dakotabraiding.com. And thanks for the access to the secret zone!
