Hello and welcome to a Great place...........
The next time you are at Tandy pick up this book
"Making Belts" by Al Stolman your questions will be answered........
PS dont take their word for their size....measure a belt that they are wearing.
Hopefully you will impress the Clan with embossed lines on the straps...But i beleive the Gillies will be the right way to go Iff'in you or they are wearing a Kilt.LOL....
missed you today.........
Hate to tell you this Cousin....But you are taking on a lot of stuff if you want to Make Beads.
The Chinese do it quicker and cheaper.I am referring to round beads.........
But on the other hand if you have one of the minature lathes. you should be able to turn out some Hair Pipe beads,IF YOU HAVE SOME ANTLER THAT IS STRAIGHT .
GOOD LUCK..............I M H O
If i were going to do what you want to do. i would use the swivel knife to cut a
border line, this cut line will act as a dye stop. then very carefully use a brush to dye the border black...
like i said Very Carefully dye the border black.
Henrik.....Nice looking rig you have there,,,,
Iffi'n you want to age the brass buckle , what i do is to remove the clear coating on the buckle, then wipe the brass with moist Black Powder after you have been shooting the gun.
Andrey, That is a fine looking 'man bag'.the color is awsum, i only use the oil dye
for my items also.
Keek up the fine work and let us see more of it.
....AND if you buy from Tandy read the fine print, the thickness on the Butt could be
10-12 oz the shoulder 8-9oz. this could cause problems if you cannot thin it .
I get mine from Wickett & Craig, specified as to what thickness i want.
