  1. Val, if I may call you Val, from what I can see your well on your way! you have tackled something I pretty much do not like at all! Shoulder rigs "Because of the harness" they are just a taboo for me. Get better pix show that bad boy off!!!
  2. @bikermutt07 from what I'm reading on the 1sm is not a variable speed unit which can be a bit of a learning curve in itself. It depends on what your planning to be doing? You can ruin many a blade before you get to where you can profile your primary bevels. If you are just looking to use it to sharpen or "power strop" I recommend finding cork belts in various grits and some decent "jewellers rouge" even HF tools green is fine. You can also make your own leather strop belt Since your unit is small. My 2x72 not so, hence the cork belts I use. I built mine from ground up. Wheels and all for under $175.00 and as you see it gets the job done. Frequency drive and motor combo came from Dealers direct in NJ fantastic people to deal with. Makes quick work of scrapping good knives if you don't practice.

    3 new tools

thank you! Yes everything is handmade by me except the sheath hardware of course! And yea I believe the "tradition" Lol! Nope! Thanks for the kind words! thank you!
  7. Made 3 new tools recently the 1st is a ss and aluminum edge roller 2lb The 2nd and 3rd are Puuko knives for my 12 and 11 year olds both boys. Both paid me a whole shiny dime for each (you never give a knife as a gift cause you dont want to cut someone who you love out of your life)anyway here they are, they wore them all day the younger one fell on a wet log and scarred his sheath but they were made to be worn and used! Both blades are L6 and scary sharp! The furniture is solid brass, leather cut from their practice leather (tooling and swivel knife practice) felt spacers on both also. The handles are impregnated with T-88 epoxy.
  8. Looks good! 4 layers huh? That's makes it a stack more of a stacked pancake! I'd like to see the backside and edges! Your use of the "meander" is pretty good that serpentine came out well the way you ended and began it look very well planned. All in all I think its a fine rig without seeing the edges and back side, my only criticism is the stitches. They look straight and tidy no doubt, but there's just something about them that is just not sitting quite right with "me" it may be that I always groove my stitch lines on holsters and I know not everyone does this (personal preference and all) just my .02
  9. Hmmmm. Think of where the business end of the real gun will cross when drawn.....jus sayin...palm out = bigger risk...my .o2
  10. Thanks for the kind words! And there's always room to learn!
  11. I'm sure there are many ways the machine could be modified but for the cost of any mods you may as well purchase an electric monster.... again modifying the thing wouldn't be cost effective and would void any type of warranties as you'd likely change torque and tortion points
  12. LMAO it took me a minute to get the reference I'm a little slow tonight I guess
  13. Yep and yep!

  17. Yea, so I don't really see alot of activity or posts about this little do dad what gives ?its either great or junk? I have read few reviews and of course most are positive but that may be mularchy (sp) also what happened to the outlaw? I don't need a big ol electric monster nor do I care to learn to be a seamstress. Cast iron and aluminum both had great reviews and some naysayers too.. who here is using one exclusively and what for? I am ass u ming thread size can be either larger or smaller dependant on what is being stitched ie. wallets=small, holsters=larger etc etc.... if you own one please chime in!!!
  18. No need for cam nuts or wing nuts if the clamping is done from the center also no need for magnetic needle holder.my "wing nut" is in the center of the jaws and needles go in the neoprene inserts on the jaws see red circle for "new wing nut" and lower red circle for insert ...

  21. funny I haven't posted anything in years both of those pieces are my work true enough and most of the work on leather with my airbrushes has been sunburst patterns or fades. the rest has been using them as mini guns. where did you pull those images from? found a few earlier pieces from splattering here they are not even trying to guess time stamps so don't ask!
