Very nice! Would love to see the back side and can you give some sort of size reference say place a dime next to one of the figures?
-
Okay that's one response! Thank you! I forgot to ask what was your intended use when you aquired yours? Call me whatever but I cannot justify spending 4 figures on a "majic stick" that does everything cept make dinner lol!! SO -1 for the 29-4 but still waiting for more feed back!

I have the opportunity to buy a 29-4 for $200.00 from a gentleman who was a saddlemaker. The questions I have are these. I'm sure they have been asked and answered but I need to know what real world thickness of leather can this old girl sew? I know from reading she should do a double thick 4oz, am I correct? What type of projects will I be able to effectively tackle? Aside from the obvious, how is the learning curve? What will she eat??? Please if you own one of these help me decide if its money invested or just a dusty space eating thing to look at. Projects that I intend to use it on should I purchase it are ranging from wallets to gun leather. ALSO to those who own one please include any pix of projects you have done on your 29-4 and what was your intended use when you aquired your 29-4??? Thanks in advance for reading this and entertaining my repeated queries!

Yea, I looked just not a huge fan of waiting for things to be shipped from overseas seems shipments from there take particularly long to TN

There are allot of us "makers" here I've done many tools from mauls to swivel knives to head knives blablabla lol! Stitching clamps, burnishers, awls, allot of stuff just for me and just because I pinch the heck outta pennies lol!

2 emails later still not a word from ranchtoarena very discouraging hoping there's not an issue or that its maybe a simple oversight... almost broke down and bought the WUTA brand off of Amazon the other night sigh can't win for losing lol!

Great job there are many Among Us here that make our own tools

I was very close to pulling the trigger on some of these but I am waiting to hear back from them. I emailed them and have not received a response yet I'm sure they're probably busy.

I'm guessing you never got any kind of response to your question about the line that the edges are creating?

How's the cane coming?
-
Lol yea yea I see it now!!
-
Which one are you currently using?
-
Lol yea cut resistant but a sharp awl glides right through them! Ask me how I know ! I use them cause the tacky grip easier to pull the needles and tightening thread. Thanks!

So I was asked to do a seat for a sportbike. Here it is I didn't like doing it it wasn't fun haha! Needless to say the owner is happy! I used one of my recently made stitching awls, although I did pre punch the holes before stitching in lengths of 6 or 7", I also use liquid latex to mask off the R R symbol before airbrushing the base colors.

Ok I'll play here are the ones I use. The 3 wood ones are cherry, oak, maple. Left to right. The rest are all Delrin. All are hand made by me.

If I were to make something like that I would take pieces of dowel and put them in the finger holes and then dip it in boiling wax to harden it -
Recommendations for dremel burnishers
Sanch replied to Tinkerton's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I recently had the opportunity to use a dremmel burnisher and did not care for the results at all the surface area on the thing was way too small for my taste and the speeds were all over the place. That's my opinion. I'm sticking to it.. -
What is this called?
Sanch replied to SouthernCross's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
Not to be a critical snob but thread is way small for the holes which look like they were drilled out or punched single layer like as said before would not be coming off of my bench unless it's IWB small of back, period... floppy holsters lead to possible disaster. That one is unsafe in my opinion get it wet and its a done deal... -

Alternatives to poundo board/matt for punching
Sanch replied to plinkercases's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
I have 5 tables made of UHMW bathroom stall dividers color is irrelevant durability and ability to clean with solvent is not of concern, tool sharpness and nondulling qualities of UHMW are fantastic have had no issues... -

Depends on the dye. Alch based Fiebings is fine airbrushed. Waterbase imho is a no go as though I've had good results along with heat setting it.

Look up DIY for silent air compressors!!! Min runs as quiet as a refrigerator.
