  1. what's the width of this abandoned tool? if you make anything that requires belt slots you can easily use it in conjunction with hole punches to make clean slots if you don't have a slot punch. it looks greater than 1 3/4" though. anyhow just sayin.
  2. very interesting! i am definitely going to try this!!
  3. thanks for all the kind words the owner loved it he put out on immediately and smiled like a Cheshire cat.
  4. thanks stitching through 1/2" thick was fun. double welt near the handle. yup, thank you
  5. did a real quick scout carry for a friend.
  6. Ron, like I said before I like it...if the customer is happy then you should be as well, regardless of any other bung hole erum...opinion..eh you know how that works! lol!!

  8. thanks the lathe is a privilege. me too! lol! dad taught me a long time ago if you can't buy it learn to make it. he said " you got the ability you just need the desire "
  9. Had a little extra time so I whipped this thing up real quick it's made out of aircraft aluminum and stainless steel for the yoke 3/4" diameter 3" length w/o blade.thanks for looking.
  10. if I get the chance to get on the lathe i will see what i can brew up but no promises k.
  11. yea crossdraw was the choice! yea the tri weave is one of yhe 5 basket weave stamps I own its a pita if not careful it likes to walk. the lining is faux suade
  12. no noticeable change in color On the 1st time use. but I did run it through a block of beeswax prior to use the 2nd time then pinched it in brown paper and pulled through it evens out the flatness and makes it easier to thread through the needle eye when locking it in. I also have the black and would've noticed any color change on it cause I didn't wax it before use.
  13. took the time to make myself a new phone holster cause I bought a new phone Samsung galaxy S8 here it is. the geometric stamping sux and I need more practice on my finger carving! but I did out all in a few hours to include the faux suade lining. it'll do the job for me!
  14. It works well enough I still prefer Delrin I may have to rework the grooves into more of a rounder shape I remember why I stopped using it on the drill press now!
  15. I finally got around to redoing my Stainless steel edge burnisher It had an arbor on it for my drill press, I wanted to use it on my new setup without having to use the old adapter I machined so I parted off the arbor and drilled out for the Half inch shaft I also put a set screw on the side. So now I have two usable motorized burnishers Here is a picture of it as always comments and questions are welcomed.
  16. Nice work on that holster Ron!
  17. no. but if your worried about the thread getting rubbed through use a groover.
  18. That's what its all about! also another little tip everyone says use bees wax I say PARAFFIN WAX it's not sticky its slick! its also great on edges after dye, saddle soap, burnish then wax then buff with a piece of canvas drop cloth!
  19. Has already been said but I'll say it again beautiful! Very classy looking
  20. My air brush holders not as fancy as yours but here's my setup! I have 3 Iwata Revolution BCR one is modded to .02 I also have a HPC+ also modded. a Sparmax (HPC+clone) and a badger Renegade series 4 super fine detail. I used to do motorcycle tanks and helmets. Now the air brushes very rarely see any type of paint that isn't going on leather.
  21. I hope the wuta irons looked better than these did! have you had the chance to use them?
  22. will do! His Edge finishing method is a tried-and-true one I've been doing it since I started leatherworking and passed it on to him!
  23. 2x72 belt grinder cork belt green polishing compound. I use a rubber mat that I purchased $5 it's only 1/4" thick but I split it and rubber cemented it together for a 1/2" thick chisel pad no need to wiggle wiggle any longer just buried the 10 tine in 12oz single layer and it slipped right out! I'm happy!
