  1. thanks guys!! the design is made up of elements the customer suggested. he wanted the double axe head, dragons and the yin yang sign. i also incorperated some of the pinstriping from the bike in the design. i'm waiting on lace and then i'll get it together. hopefully it will be done by the end of the weekend. here is the original artwork i whipped up on the computor.
  2. i decided to give my pebbler a rest on this one and make it as clean as i could. did a mix of regular and inverted beveling. i find i really have to focus when tooling both ways. i did all the inverted stuff first.
  3. for sure it will decrease the volume of the guitar. the sound resinates through the front and is amplified by the body. does make for a pretty guitar though
  4. boy my hands are a bit sore having to finish up these last two seats in less than a week!!. this one was supposed to be a joint project between david and i but, plans changed and SPS buried him with a pile of "i need it yesterday!!" seats so, i ended up having to drop everything and complete this thing. i started it friday night including the drawing and padding and took the afternoon off from my day job today to finished it up. and of corse it's in our favorite color!!!! well.... i'm on to the next!.
  5. very nice!! just curious how much the leather has changed the sound.
  6. thanks guys!! this one is packed up and i'm on to the next two!! tom... my nic name is still under my avatar
  7. LOL!! yea i could see that! he is psycle sam.. a greatful dead staple. i can't take credit for him but, yea.. i like the knees the flames are to match the flames on the bike.
  8. hand stich it! why put your work into someone elses hands! you can't go wrong with learning to saddle stitch and it will be good and strong
  9. i agree with crystal. velcro or snaps would really improve the look.
  10. thanks guys!! this one is buckskin to oxblood to mahoangy. yes freak... the lacing pattern i have only used a couple times
  11. here it is finished up.
  12. yea... i get it now and then.... they just don't understand that you really can't rush that level of detail. you may get it done on time but, it is a sacrifice to do it.
  13. boy you got that one done quick!!!! came out real nice david
  14. david... i don't envy you in the least with that thing! too much lettering for me for sure. you have done a great job of keeping it consistant for sure. the two tone lace is a nice touch
  15. really sucks that people get such joy from stuff like that! thank you guys for your effort!
  16. thanks darryl! very well said! thanks ritch! i try to improve something every time i start another project. these bags are not much fun to produce but i an generally happy with the finished product
  17. really nice! i am stuck woking out of the corner of my dining room
  18. very cool! i used to make those when i was a kid. i thought about making them recentally and found they were no longer avaiable through tandy. i was gonna get one to use for a template and just have not taken the time to make one up myself. thanks for showing it off!!
  19. correct me if I'm wrong but, isn't part of owning a business growing it and reinvesting in it so it grows? are they not aloud to make a profit? they don't make anything i sell and i am very happy with the price and quality of everything i buy from them
  20. very nice!! i admire your basket weaving!! straight and alined
  21. looks to me like you have plenty! just beautiful work with what you've done!
  22. pretty bags! just curious... why didn't you tool more of the seat?
  23. much of my work is going on high end bikes and they want something custom so, they want my work over the $20 bag. they really are way too much work for what i charge and i generally only do them along with a seat or between seats when i have nothing else to do. my lined bags take me a good ten hours to complete thanks!! i don't get near enough and put them off quite often. this brown bag has been on my waiting list since the end of march
  24. man i really feel like i'm spinning my wheels everytime i have to make bags. they take me nearly as long as a seat! one of these i have been putting off since march. anyhow.. glad they are done as the seat work is piling up again!
