thanks for all the coments and compliments! i really enjoy being able to these sorts of designs. caftsman... i made my own pedal lifter
-
just finished up the tooling and will be putting this one together tonight. i wanted to show it before it goes black. i may try and get away with not dying all the tooling black.
-
i'll try and scan the artwork tonight.. i think i still have it laying around
-
thanks again for all the comments! this is one of my favorite colors. show that seat david! (even though it's black) this artwork was provided to me. i did a bit of studing feathers and how i think they should look and lay. i used a couple tools that clayb suggested for the feathers. i'm sure there are other ways but these two tools work well for me. the only feathers i have done have been the three or four seats this year. funny how i have never done any before and i've now done a bunch in a row. the two tool are.. F120 and F121

Preval sprayer
Roger replied to Regis's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
i use an airbrush but... the room i do all my dye and glue work in is not heated so, i don't think that the temp was your problem. i've had water freeze in my spray bottle and the dye flows just fine. i also spray them without any thinning -

clean job kevin! -
i'm sure you could turn a barrel the is as good as any out there. the big difference i see is in the shape of the yolk. you could make one that fits the way you want it. buy a beard blade for it
-
thanks guys! ian i use an airbrush to apply the dye. i try to only use oil dies. i like the way they cover. this one is british tan. it's actually an orange tone
-
just finished this seat and fender panel up. this had to be the hardest one i've covered! took me nearly two hours to get the cover on it but, it's smooth and tight
-
i might be interested if he's not!

thanks!not my fav either but, what the customer wanted thanks hedge!shirley originally showed it done on a seat. it is basically the same as round braid but you don't hook under. sorry i can't explain it better thanks ken!!i really like that lacing pattern
-
i'm finally starting to catch up a bit. i used that lacing pattern that shirley showed off and thanks david for the quick pointers. it is wayyy faster than round braid and i really like the look.

i have two barry king knives. i think they are great for the money. $40 with a blade. i would like to try a beard but, don't think i would ever spend the money on one but, without trying one i can't say.

i really like that second design!! very cool

my version of an eyeglass case
Roger replied to Duke's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
good looking simple case! do you have a loop or clip on the back? -
thanks pip!! David... here's the bottom
-
this is for a nearly new rocket 3. it's an inline 3 cylinder fuel injected 2390cc motor putting out 132hp stock.
-
thanks david! once i get it back together i'll take a pic of the bottom. it has some plumbing on the bottom! looks like it hooks to the air intake at the front and has fresh air intakes near the rear on each side
-
Thanks again for all the comments! I really enjoyed tooling this one and have a couple more floral seats coming up the tooling seems to hold up just fine. it will smooth out a bit from being buffed but other than that. i haven't seen much of a problem
-
nice tom! i can't wait to see this thing finished up. lace away!!
-
thanks for all the comments! tom... it killed me to not get anything done all week. it just eats at me when i have stuff sitting that has been paid for. i'm gonna take a day off this coming week and try to get caught up on some of this stuff. things are just piling up. on another note... i found out i have some more leather in two mags! i can't wait to have some time to scan the articles and get them up on my site
-
very nice anne! i like the pattern
-
had a long week at my day job and was unable to to much leather. it's put me way behind but, i'll get through it. i am just finishing up this monster.
