  1. Wicked detail, thanks for posting the pictures.
  2. I think you want a bicast product. http://www.allcitylabel.com/leather/index1.htm
  3. You're welcome, I couldn't tell from the picture. I thought you cut a strip in the back of the sheath and ran the clip through it. They all look fantastic though.
  4. You can use thin wall pipe or a stencil to make the outline and then follow that with your knife. I used thin wall drain pipe from a sink drain to make the circle for the moon.
  5. Looks pretty good, could use some darker stain for the back ground. Was this a kit?
  6. I just put the clip between the layers. In your case the back may have to be made of two pieces glued together. On an inlay the edges wouldn't be finished, they would be glued to the mating pieces. Kevin.
  7. These look very nice, well done! The leather keeper on the first one that retains the belt clip may get excessive wear from sliding it on and off the belt. The only thing that might enhance these is an inlay instead of an underlay but the underlay will protect the stingray somewhat.
  8. I usually sand it off.
  9. If those don't work, you may have to modify the keys to fit the screw post.
  10. They are different grades. I'm using white and finishing with green on a buffing machine. The blades I sharpen are extremely sharp using these two compounds. Once the blades are sharp I just use the green to keep them sharp.
  11. Jim; That would be easy enough to build but casters alone will be at least $10 bucks each. You could put an add in the local paper or .com for a wood worker. Sometimes high school students will do this sort of thing for a project if there is a shop class. You can buy folding table legs and put a top on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Metal-Folding-Table-Legs-36-Tall-x-24-inches-Wide-Pkg-2-/190642455841?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c632d0521
  12. Looks good and sturdy Cheryl. That shirt would make a good sign board.
  13. That looks great silk, nice job with the pictures too.
  14. The imitation ostrich I have doesn't have holes but rather rough spots. If dirty hands are a problem I don't think any kind of light leather is going to be suitable over time as it will likely glaze and need replacing. You can always make more than one and change them out over time.
  15. I always neatsfoot and then dye, not sure if it makes a difference.
  16. Well done ....again!
  17. You can also search screw post. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-8-Aluminum-Screw-Posts-100pk-/350407750395?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5195edf2fb
  18. George; I wouldn't toss them just yet. Cut a small piece and try soaking it in neatsfoot. If you see improvement then you can try different oil and wax treatments to rehydrate the leather. Kevin.
  19. Smart design and well executed.

This is the collar in complete darkness.

This works with a strip of LED chips and a 9 volt battery.
  22. Thanks all, Bill, yes it is a 12 volt light strip bought at Wal-mart. I wasn't sure if they would work with 9 volts but they do. Lower voltage on LED's won't be as bright but they will last longer and they are plenty bright with 9 volts. These are the new LED chips, square in design. You can see how bright they are even though the flash on the camera was on.
  23. I use an earth magnet on my pruning saw case. It's a plastic case and the magnet is on the back of the case. The magnet will erase the magnetic strip on credit cards.
  24. I've been working on an illuminated dog collar for use at night. It works really well and is extremely bright at night, works off a 9 volt battery. I want to develop a different switching method to turn it on and off but all in all it works good. Kevin.
