  1. I haven't used shoe goo, Locktite brand super glue is also what has worked well for me.
  2. I would use crazy glue and clamp it closed. Put wax paper between the clamp and leather. The crazy glue will run into the bottom of the crack.
  3. That's smoke'n hot! Nice work.
  4. It's easier with more space to work with. When I stitched a set of saddle bags it was nice not having to struggle with them.
  5. I think you want a bicast product. http://www.allcitylabel.com/leather/index1.htm
  6. You're welcome, I couldn't tell from the picture. I thought you cut a strip in the back of the sheath and ran the clip through it. They all look fantastic though.
  7. You can use thin wall pipe or a stencil to make the outline and then follow that with your knife. I used thin wall drain pipe from a sink drain to make the circle for the moon.
  8. Looks pretty good, could use some darker stain for the back ground. Was this a kit?
  9. I just put the clip between the layers. In your case the back may have to be made of two pieces glued together. On an inlay the edges wouldn't be finished, they would be glued to the mating pieces. Kevin.
  10. These look very nice, well done! The leather keeper on the first one that retains the belt clip may get excessive wear from sliding it on and off the belt. The only thing that might enhance these is an inlay instead of an underlay but the underlay will protect the stingray somewhat.
  11. If those don't work, you may have to modify the keys to fit the screw post.
  12. They are different grades. I'm using white and finishing with green on a buffing machine. The blades I sharpen are extremely sharp using these two compounds. Once the blades are sharp I just use the green to keep them sharp.
  13. Jim; That would be easy enough to build but casters alone will be at least $10 bucks each. You could put an add in the local paper or .com for a wood worker. Sometimes high school students will do this sort of thing for a project if there is a shop class. You can buy folding table legs and put a top on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Metal-Folding-Table-Legs-36-Tall-x-24-inches-Wide-Pkg-2-/190642455841?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2c632d0521
  14. Looks good and sturdy Cheryl. That shirt would make a good sign board.
  15. That looks great silk, nice job with the pictures too.
  16. The imitation ostrich I have doesn't have holes but rather rough spots. If dirty hands are a problem I don't think any kind of light leather is going to be suitable over time as it will likely glaze and need replacing. You can always make more than one and change them out over time.
  17. I always neatsfoot and then dye, not sure if it makes a difference.
  18. You can also search screw post. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-8-Aluminum-Screw-Posts-100pk-/350407750395?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5195edf2fb
  19. George; I wouldn't toss them just yet. Cut a small piece and try soaking it in neatsfoot. If you see improvement then you can try different oil and wax treatments to rehydrate the leather. Kevin.
