  1. Love the work on the belt! And cool sign! I pose a question: Do you ever have trouble with having to work on a project with obscene gestures or cuss words?? I've never been asked but I hesitate...
  2. Thought many would learn and enjoy this video! I hope I attached it right.
  3. Nice minimalist wallet! Sometimes leather can get stiff if you really soak it with dye. Your thread looks a little heavy. Doesn't look too bad though.
  4. Great wallet tutorial, minimal Oz! Welcome to the forum!
  5. Ikewineb, Look on Craigslist for used seats. You may get off cheaper.
  6. Lunasea, For one thing, if you don't know that you need vegetable tanned leather to tool a design- you need to start from the beginning and learn the basics before doing any project of this magnitude. Yes, I believe you're too ambitious. Start with something simple and learn what you need to know before moving ahead. Learn from videos on the internet or go to the Tandy leather factory site. It has tons of videos and info. Good Luck!
  7. You are spot on, CountryStyle! When I joined I scoured the whole site for hours looking at past posts and drinking in all I could. You never can learn enough here. This is the only forum I use for knowledge and leather working friends. Glad someone pointed this out!
  8. Adding the stitching would really make it look professional. Also depending on how you cut the pieces will make a difference. Good luck!
  9. The wildebeest is beautiful and very nicely done!
  10. Sounds like you should dilute it and put it on in lighter coats.
  11. I agree Turn n Burn, I sometimes think paint ruins a leather project.
  12. Nice, what project is this for?
  13. Austyn, I also love the look and feel of the oil tanned leather. I don't know if there's any need to keep it fresh. I've had a side for over a year and just used some. I've not had any problem with oil bleeding out of it.
