  1. My question is: How does anyone have enough leather dust to mix with the rubber cement? Or are you making the dust and how?
  2. Welcome back! Hope to see that 'little something in the works' when it's finished. Beautiful knife!
  3. I think if you get your stitching under control your product will improve. I can't tell if you've beveled any edges but doing that and burnishing the edges will also improve the look. Welcome to the forum Phillip!
  4. Mojo, I've seen worse... At least you finished it and learned for the next one. Good start!.
  5. You are too good at this animal stuff! Excellent work!!
  6. Whoa! They're going to love it! That looks like a lot of work!! Great job! Thanks for showing it!
  7. Real nice bag... I don't have any doubt your next one will be even better.
  8. I have pondered the same question... It just doesn't seem logical. From a woodworking point of view this would NEVER work. Maybe the only difference is that leather is absorbent and flexible and allows the finishes to work together.
  9. Big Red, Try Nitrile gloves. I use them and get them by the 100/box. You might want Large. They tend to run tight.
  10. Yes!! And it's been mentioned here that some do it. You'll have to search for the posts. I could kick myself for selling ours a few years ago! I don't know about the drying part. I would assume it would hold it's shape if it was carefully taken out and it would dry the rest of the way but I don't know.
  11. Well where's the picture?!? Congrats! Take that well deserved break. Curious as to what have been some of your biggest sellers?
  12. Welcome Frans! I would go to the Tandy site www.tandyleatherfactory.com and watch some of the videos and look over their products to familiarize yourself with the craft. You will find that the basics will help you decide what you need and not need. You will learn a lot here on this site from the seasoned professional posts. Good Luck
  13. A clutch or small bag would probably be a good bet. For the age maybe some color instead of earth tones and a little bling. Good luck!
  14. Here is the same concept only no cuts just the beveler.
  15. Wow! I noticed you hadn't posted for a while. I hope that means you've been real busy!
  16. Peterson, Here's a few photos. 1978 Shovelhead motor. The motor you see is only for mock up. The frame and all metal parts were fabricated by my husband. Only a few parts that had to be bought were applied. Single sided swing arm was his own design. Parts are now at the painters. These are older photos. So most of everything is custom and the seat better have the WOW factor!!
