  1. Wow, they are going to love it!
  2. Yes!! And it's been mentioned here that some do it. You'll have to search for the posts. I could kick myself for selling ours a few years ago! I don't know about the drying part. I would assume it would hold it's shape if it was carefully taken out and it would dry the rest of the way but I don't know.
  3. Well where's the picture?!? Congrats! Take that well deserved break. Curious as to what have been some of your biggest sellers?
  4. Welcome Frans! I would go to the Tandy site www.tandyleatherfactory.com and watch some of the videos and look over their products to familiarize yourself with the craft. You will find that the basics will help you decide what you need and not need. You will learn a lot here on this site from the seasoned professional posts. Good Luck
  5. A clutch or small bag would probably be a good bet. For the age maybe some color instead of earth tones and a little bling. Good luck!
  6. Here is the same concept only no cuts just the beveler.
  7. Wow! I noticed you hadn't posted for a while. I hope that means you've been real busy!
  8. Peterson, Here's a few photos. 1978 Shovelhead motor. The motor you see is only for mock up. The frame and all metal parts were fabricated by my husband. Only a few parts that had to be bought were applied. Single sided swing arm was his own design. Parts are now at the painters. These are older photos. So most of everything is custom and the seat better have the WOW factor!!
  9. I'm stepping away now... A Sheridan design is what we're going with and I'm not good at drawing from scratch. I've tried pasting sheridan designs together and they don't flow right. And I have to say I'm not that good at carving and stamping Sheridan so it's going to be a long process. I guess the main thing is knowing what to cut and what to model after I even come up with a design.
  10. Anyone here have trouble with their artwork /design creativeness? Well this is not writers block. It's leather work block. Usually I'll see something someone's done and there's a wow factor. With me it's been a struggle creating my own designs. I can't figure it out! My designs are NOT wowing me! I have a seat I'm doing for a motorcycle my husband is entering in an invite only judged show. I need that wow factor!! What do you do when you have a leather work block??
  11. You can find a seat kit on Ebay but you'll be spending a lot. Just buy a seat pan and make your own. Accufast2d.net
  12. Awesome! Full of bling!
  13. Congrats Shadowryder!
  14. Welcome, Papaw! Sounds like you're going to be busy.
  15. Wow! Beyond words.
  16. So Jimbob, what do you do in the winter if you're closing the shop?
  17. Too bad you didn't have a handle on it. You could make your logo on a piece of leather and chain it on like purse manufacturers do.
  18. You don't have a photo so not sure what you're making her but I think you'll have trouble trying to put the logo on at this point. Maybe you could cut out a piece of leather and put the stamp on it and attach it as a decorative piece?
  19. Congrats! It looks great!
  20. Have a memorable Thanksgiving everyone!
