  1. Really great job Both look very well made and stylish!
  2. Almost missed this one Super cool as always, such great work the dude looks on fire! Was watching an American Pickers episode and they were looking at a samurai warrior mask and armor and I thought "I know some one who could make an awesome samurai outfit"
  3. This is quite a tease Nice work and photos so far....I am getting a pea or bean theme here
  4. Those look great! I love the nose artwork of planes
  5. White pencil and a LED headlamp works for me My eye sight is changing too
  6. Use a kitchen fork to mark the spacing in your stitching line....easier to keep in a gouged line than a wheel
  7. Yes you can use acrylic artists paints on leather which IMHO are better than Tandy's Cova colours. Coloured markers, like sharpies also work well for outline work. Definitely seal the surface with a clear acrylic spray like this Fiebings one. http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/en-usd/home/department/leather-dye/leather-finish/2205-00.aspx There are a couple threads on what paints to use in here if you search acrylic paint or painting leather. Hope that helps, Scott
  8. Both of those are great projects Murf You are one resourceful dude!

  11. Great stuff and welcome to the site! Your stitching is nice straight and clean Hope you are doing some leather shopping at these guys http://www.indigoleather.com/ It is a great local shop Cheers, Scott
  12. I have the Tandy version and it is better than my hand skiving for sure. I would love a crank splitter though. Must ask, what does "lap skiving" mean????
  13. I wrapped a modelling tool handle in scarlet stained leather and found I quickly developed red finger. I bet I have a nephew somewhere in Australia with a red wrist from scarlet eco-flow.....hopefully he doesn't figure it is from his leather bracelet I made him. Seal it really well with acrylic or use oil based. Live, learn
  14. and don't forget to watch the best stitching video!!!! http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=44874&hl=
  15. Does stitching the length of the leash prevent stretching???
  16. This is pretty cool, definitely big leagues manufacturing How many jackets to produce in the contract? Are they one size fits all?

Black Horween with yellow stitching at my son's request Looks too much like boston bruins for my liking LR stitching muffed, poor spacing around the corner REALLY shows up in yellow
  19. Hard lesson of buying known quality from a reputable source for more money rather than cheap fast deal from the world unknown Sorry to hear this, hope your supplier recovers
