  6. Here's what I got. Consew 225 138 bonded thread on top and in the bobbin. Orange DP X 17 135 X 17 #22 needle I am new at the sewing thing I guess I should have paid attention in homec class in High School but I was to busy being a red blooded male. Anyway the top stitch doesn't look bad but the bottom stitch is not locking in the middle of the leather. The leather in the picture is 4 pieces of Veg Tan leather and it stair steps down to one layer with the same results. Can one of you guys or Gals help me please. Thank, Chris

I like working with Horse hide. I know some people don't like it, but I just think it a matter of casing it. Your thoughts Stewart? Chris

  13. I am just throwing this out there. I watch my Grandfather take his old double edge razor blade he shaved with, he put one in a old ceramic coffee mug(like the old white ones they had at diners) take his index finger and position the razor blade on the inside wall of the mug. He would slide the blade with his index finger back and forth inside the mug(half circle) and hold the mug with his other hand. Now I was pretty young when I watch him do it and I asked him why he was doing that for, his response this was how you stretched a dollar back in the great depression. I can tell you those blade were sharp enough to shave with again and again and again. Chris
