I think the clue is in the names.....'kote.' I have heard of many people having problems with these products because the sit on the edge. A dye would work better. Cheryl

There is a sub forum for masks but since this is a purse I don't see the relevance to masks. If you want to wet form it over a triangular wooden shape, just make sure you have 1/4th inch to nail it down. Do it at the edge of the 1/4th so you'll have room to cut off the nail holes after it dries. However it's beyond me how you will sew it inside out at that shape. If you wanted to tool a dragon purse it would be much easier and maybe nicer. We had a dragon challenge a while back in the 'contests' forums and I did a carved one by finding a picture online and leaving it up on my screen while I drew and carved it. This wasn't the best by any means and the picture isn't a good one but I think you'll get the idea. I hope someone else will come along and help you as far as molding it, and turning it inside out to sew. Cheryl

Fiend I made 4 of them recently but they weren't the type to sew on, the end straps were sewn to 1 " with a 2" which became 1/2 and 1" after being sewn. The 2 " piece that was sewn to make an opening to run the 1/2" pieces through so it made a loop sewn onto the wider strap on each end to put around the rifle barrel and butt. The part that was sewn in-between the strap and suede was also 1" wide on the other end to the two looped pieces. One looped was free float because a buckle was sewn on one end of the the strap and that piece was longer than the other one with belt holes so it could be adjusted, thus needing the one inch left on it and a longer amount of it on the side opposite the loop. I sewed mine 2 & 1/2 inches so three shouldn't be a problem. I just scanned as much as I could of my pattern to upload and I hope you aren't as confused as I am, LOL. If I can explain this better, just ask.

Need Some Lacing Advice
DoubleC replied to Dwight's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Dwight if you use a conditioner on it, it will straighten out the lace and may moisten it enough to keep it from breaking. Cheryl -

Absolutely beautiful. Cheryl -
Also did you edge the pigskin too? I would have edged the veg tanned on it's front, and also the pigskin on it's front that will round both edges. Cheryl

Am I Just Too Much A Newbie Or Am I Dealing With A Nutjob?
DoubleC replied to CyLee's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
LOL I watch Kevin's Value Channel at Springfield Leather and I've heard him describe leather in probably 200 ways but never by bull or heifer. Actually after 3 years on here I've never heard it. I DO have a friend like yours though although she doesn't try and act like she knows everything about leather, just everything else, LOLOL. I agree with the OP about the 'one leg shorter' or something else to tease him but don't expect any change. You can prove one thing to these people but they'll still know everything about everything else -
New Belt

Really pretty belt. Cheryl -
Another advantage of the Boss, although I don't have one, is it's portability. A lot of people take them to shows and rodeos because they don't require electricity. I know people that have them and love them and people that hate them. They have a learning curve like anything else and some people don't want to put the time into learning the Boss. Cheryl

Chief one this piece I actually like the dark color. I think your tooling looks crisp and clean on it. Beautiful Strap. Cheryl

Not Good Enough To Draw My Own Pics.
DoubleC replied to anthonyg1382's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
If I have to do something custom for someone I usually hit the internet, find a picture I like, and then free draw it on the item. Simply because it's hard to get it to fit the way you want it to when you print it. When I do things for my booth I use my own designs usually. I'm not an artist but it works for me. Also I have a book of belt designs since it's so hard to find something to fit to those. Cheryl -

Oh you came to the right thread so maybe Johanna can help you Deryk. I'm not sure it can be changed. Cheryl

You're doing good Anthony. Now jump in with both feet and make you something and try some dyes or paints. All of it takes practice so the sooner you begin the sooner you'll be able to do it. I really like your ace. Cheryl

Anna Stone-Boyd is a friend of mine who is going through a really hard time right now. Two years ago she had a double mastectomy to remove her breasts because breast cancer was so prevalent in her family. Yet she continued to have infections in one of the implants. She finally got a second opinion from another hospital after being told for two years this was a normal process while the body adjusted to the implants. Her surgeon had not removed all the breast material in one side and she indeed does have have stage 3 borderline 4 cancer in the breast which has spread to other parts of her body. She is unable to work during this time while she travels back and forth to a hospital a couple of hours from Rutland. Please, those of you who are survivors of this horrible disease donate anything you can afford, even if it's a dollar to help Anna through this critical time in her life. And those of you who have watched someone go through cancer as a survivor or loss someone to cancer please try and do what you can. The link to donate is https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/3195/anna-boyd-s-breast-cancer-fundraiser?utm_source=facebook Thank you for any help you can give. Cheryl

Some Bracelets

Flawless work, great job. Cheryl -
You especially need to put a finish on black, and I would recommend resolene cut 50-50 with water, 2-3 light coats. Other people may tell you a different finish but resolene has always worked for me.
