I'm glad to hear that! I'm also very thankful you offer the option of first class mail for needles-only orders...that is much appreciated. I will be placing an order for those new needle sizes soon.
-
Yeah, use that...that should work fine.

I am not playing anymore, so by definition you are now playing with yourself.

Right. Whatever. There were other inaccuracies too...I just don't pay any attention to what he says anymore. Also, I tend to rely on actual military specifications...not propaganda from a thread manufacturer. I've packed a logbook full of reserve parachutes. How many have you packed?

Yeah. Someone posted that video a few days ago. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=53220 -
Here's another I use a lot...good for buckles mainly... http://store.ryansproducts.com

Maybe some kind of plough gauge? Bruce Johnson would know...maybe he'll chime in...

I think it's cute how you think I care what you think about me. Also, I will continue to tell folks to search when they ask questions that have been asked several hundred times and when they post "what leather should I use?" without any additional info. That's common courtesy on any forum. I always try to search first before I post...I don't get why that's so difficult for others to do. And if you think I haven't posted any useful/helpful posts, you also are not very observant because they're there...or maybe you just want to see only what you want to see, huh?

Chances are he doesn't have malware. It's probably a plugin problem. I've been working in IT since 1990...use a different browser. Also, it's not a "constant battle" if you don't sit there and browse using an account with admin privs...but y'all go on ahead and do what you want. What do I know, right? Dan...once you're done doing all that other stuff and it doesn't find any malware, use a different browser and you'll be able to attach pics then.

Use a different browser.

WTF do you think you are?? I don't have to answer to you. I guess I'll lie about the scratch awl I got and say it sucked. Would that makes thou happy then, king peter? Then you are not very observant because they're there. Yep. Probably better than you in some aspects. Oh, and don't get mad -- remember, you're the one thast came in here trying to pick a fight with me here...

Might look at these... http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=52533 http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=51631

I don't have a fix for your spots (though there are a LOT of posts already on here about that which you can locate by searching)...but you ought to tack on a PITA fee to that customer before releasing the seat to them. When my customers nag me about custom items, I put them at the back of the line behind all other projects I'm trying to finish. I warn them about that ahead of time, but they still do it for some reason...

Curious what kind of product you're talking about...? The roo lace I got from Springfield was trash. Felt like thin cardboard really...not soft yet strong like the other roo I'd used before. I tried soaping it a lot, but it just felt like stiff, cardboard-like lace with saddle soap on it...it was horrible. I'm doing my best to use it all up ASAP so I can reorder from my other supplier soon.

Ok, well since he doesn't feel like doing it, try this guy... http://www.blujay.co...ername=Chairman I bought a scratch awl from him and if that's any indication, it'll end up being a lot nicer than his anyway... He said he was working on a smaller design soon also...

There is another topic on here where someone said right-hand twist thread is for curved needle machines, fwiw... I think all my bonded nylon is left twist. I do have one spool that does not seem to have any twist at all...I need to replace it, but I can't find the same color.

Thanks so much for that!! I am going to sit down and try to tackle this again tonight with your info above. Thanks again!

Yeah. Another euphemism people on here seem to like to use is "function over form"...which basically equates to "It doesn't matter if it looks like garbage as long as it works ok..." ...as if something can't look great AND function well. Go figure...

Ok. Well, is there any way you might be able to at least start me out with the overs and unders on that last pass, please? And if you can, do I just make the 4 pass type 1 like before and add that final pass then? Or is there a tutorial for the type 2 to cover the first four passes that I could use? Going to look in the tom hall book some more...maybe some of it will sink in one day...
-
Nah...just put it on etsy and call it "rustic" and charge $100 for it...someone will buy it...
-
That is neat... How would you go from that to a 32p x32b, 4 Pass, Type 2 Pineapple Knot? I'm not even sure I understand how to get to where you are in the pic above...I'm so confused. Also, I thought the original one I was trying to do was a Type I Pineapple Knot...when I tried the type 2, the ends didn't close up and there were bights on the outside of the ends...I didn't like it at all... Still quite confused...

First Leather Wallet And Need Help
TXAG replied to Leprechaunleather's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
There is a search box at the top right corner of the page. Your questions have been discussed many, many times before...you'll find great info on your questions if you search there. Also, there's no way to tell you what leather you should be getting without knowing what kind of wallet you're going to try to make. And if you're new to leatherworking, you might want to start with something slightly more simple than a wallet, but...
