Nice, Mike..I especially like the way you did the thing with the thing.. Regards Phil
  2. Looks great, Wood..I really like the way you've incorporated the letters in with the floral part instead of just surrounding them..very nice indeed.. Regards Phil
  3. Nice piece, Double U.. Very pretty indeed.. Regards Phil
  4. Thanks Dave.. I'm a bit away from BK's tools..possibly light years, lol Loving the the effect it leaves though.. Regards Phil
  5. Just a thought if you want to line it..to help protect the phone screen.. Have a look at Hunio's thread on molding a card case..I think he molds the lining with the outer too.. Seems that way from the pics on page 2.. http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=42883&st=15&p=270335entry270335 Regards Phil
  6. Very nice St8.! I had the same idea today about the block for my stamps and dragged out some of the hardwood I made a tiki statue from this summer..it'll hold a few stamps. I also found it's good for burnishing with.! lol As far as your mule goes, you've certainly advanced the design a fair bit and I think you're on with a winner. The constant tension thing will be a boon, since you've decided you're not going with the coffee cup holder.. Love the cubby hole idea and also the shelf too..it's all personal stitching style with regards to if you're gonna get caught up on it, but overall I think its handy to have all your sundries to hand.. Personally, I'd have gone with a magnet on a helium balloon for holding my spare needles, but the shelf is good too.. Go steady rounding up the nylon strap too..when you think you've got it cornered, keep an eye open for it's mate, poised to pounce on your back and shred ya.. Always out of direct sight and always above you..be warned my friend..its a jungle out there.. Take care.. Regards Phil
  7. Hi Sherlockian..I've saved the pic and when I zoomed in, it looks like the stitches miss a hole and go to the next, each time.. It may even be done with one needle by the look of it, depending on if the back of the stitch is a different pattern. If it's the same on the back of the stitch, then I can't work out how they came back to pick up the hole that's missed, apart from using two seperate sets of stitching.. Not sure if that's helped you at all, but after 4 hrs sleep, its all I can come up with..LOL Regards Phil
  8. Looking very nice, Legion.. Good fit, neat stitching and edges too.. The forming looks to have come out well, so well done.. Is it a lined case or just bare leather in there.? Regards Phil
  9. Ahem...St8..would THIS help?? Just spent half an hour searching, so 'YES' is the correct answer..LOL http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=3597&hl=don101#entry51746 Originally posted by Don101..smart piccy of his finished bags and some drawings, though it's hard to see dimensions..very tidy bags though.. Regards Phil
  10. Yeah no stress Johanna..I wasn't sure if you were finished up tweaking, is all.. Regards Phil
  11. Subtle, St8...real subtle... pass me your sledgehammer for a bit will ya?? LMAO!!
  12. Being short on pockets isn't purely a female biker problem Susan.. I'm fine if I wear my camo trousers, but as soon as the weather turns and I'm back to leathers, they have a distinct lack of pockets. I always carry my phone, wallet, camera, shades, garage remote and a torch for avoiding the slugs on the garden path..so pockets are at a premium..my only saving grace is that I wear a cut-off denim that gives me extra ones..LOL Maybe you can make a bag that will do for a tank bag, but will be easy enough to carry your stuff around when off the bike.? Start a new trend and sell them.. You never know, you could end up on the next Google Chrome advert.!! I know what you mean with the whole black is boring thing..with bikes anyway.. I get comments all the time on the colour of my bike, but I love it and also the fact that its easily spottable in the crowd of matt and shiny black bikes out there now.. It's a reflection of me..bright and loud!! I also agree with David about ebay, with the addition of the local bike breakers being a place to try, especially if you don't care about the condition of the vinyl covering.. Maybe you could use the original cover as a template for the shape if its actually in good condition.? Just a thought.. Regards Phil
  13. Hi Johanna.. I just found this lurking around in the Show Off section.. 'An error occured with the SQL server:' Is there a bin anywhere I can put it?? :S Oh and whilst I'm here..I'm not sure if you're still playing with the site, but it seems slow this morning even with simple things, such as 'Mark this post as read' taking an age to finish its stuff.. Hope they're easy fixes.. Regards Phil
  14. Very nice holster there, Bob.. I tried a cheap vacuum bag for wet forming a penknife sheath last week, but it let air in, so I had to revert to good old brute force and a spoon.. Need to get myself another bag, methinks..LOL Yours did really well though.. Regards Phil
  15. Let's hope its only dementia, Rudi and not that other thing..you know...whachamakawlit.. Oh yeah, dementia!! LOL.!! :D Nice work Arbalet..they genuinely look old.. Very intricate carving indeed.. Regards Phil
  16. Yeah it has gone darker Milo, but IMHO it goes really well with the bodywork colours.. Totally beautiful..the bike AND the seat.. Well done indeed, on your part.. The bike wouldn't be anywhere near as classy with an off-the-shelf seat, that's for sure.. Thanks for posting the pics..it's good to see it in situ.. Regards Phil
  17. Haha! Well if you do mate, I need..no hang on..I'll try that with a run up, to get the right emphasis......NEED to see pics LOL.! In the meantime..good luck with your design hunt..
  18. They look quite good Legion.. and a pretty easy project as far as time spent goes.. Definitely a saleable item.. Regards Phil
  19. Don't envy you on this project Mike.. Are you putting the Punisher skull on the outside for her.. LOL You know you want to.. Regards Phil
  20. Haha! PROPER laughed out loud with that one, Mike.!! :D Susan.. Over the past 30yrs, I've ridden a few sports bikes and now I'm on custom.. I've seen one off seats made for sports bikes, but they are few and far between, with a lot of riders not changing their seats besides perhaps having a gel pad put in.. Sometimes I find things on Google images quite easy, so you could maybe try putting your bike model and then adding 'one off seat' or 'custom seat'..it may come up with some inspiration for you? Regards Phil
  21. Haha! I wear sunglasses all the time on my bike, yeah..makes me look cool, with the added bonus of stopping the flies from bouncing off've my eyeballs..(just need something for covering my teeth next..) LOL Oh and sometimes, when the sun DOES come out, they help against the glare too.. Regards Phil
  22. I wish we had somewhere to go to like Springfield over here..I can't seem to find anywhere yet..LOL Great tip, by the way..
  23. Haha! And here I was thinking I was going slightly mad a couple of months ago, cos I was looking at going with a cut throat for the economy..
