  1. Thanks for posting the pictures Chancey. I haven't done a name belt yet just because of this issue. David
  2. Looks nice, thanks for taking the time to post it and the video David
  3. Like the gauntlets, welcome to the forum. Thanks for posting your projects. David
  4. Good looking belt and buckle. Like the two tone look. David
  5. Nice looking machine but I think I like the bike better. David
  6. I vote natural with a little antique. But you do need more than one. It came out very nice Joe. David
  7. You can get closed cell foam at craft stores cheap. I got some to thin sheets to line a guitar strap with at Joann's fabric but I have seen it at different craft stores in the kids area. I used rubber cement to hold it, I don't know if contact cement would melt it or not. Closed cell foam like neoprene won't hold water if it gets wet. David
  8. Looks great, like the coloring, good job. David
  9. Welcome to the forum. Have fun, ask questions, a lot of things you can find on old posts using the search. David
  10. I made a bag to go between my license plate and solo rack it is out of 9 to 10 oz leather. I vinagrooned it black and use Aussie conditioner on it occasionally. I have had it there about six months and it has scuffed the paint on the fender a little. Not bad but I know it's there which is why I was asking. I have seen some posts where they lined a bib with felt to help. Any way the bib looks good I notice the baseball lacing, I like it. David
  11. Looks really good, it all flows together. Like the lacing too. David
  12. Looks good, what did you line it with to keep from scratching the paint? David
  13. Looks good, like Bluesman said it sets the purse of great. Good job David
  14. The collet is the hole in the handle that tightens down on the shaft of the blade usually with a knurled nut to tighten it. Look at a drill, router or Dremel tool to see what I mean. David
  15. Looks good Cheryl, keep it up, picture shows it looking a little more organized. Congrats on the straps. Remember the closer it gets to Christmas the more impulse buying will occur. And most men hate to shop and wait until the last minute. David
  16. Fiebings dyes are spirit based even the ones that say oil. Use their reducer or denatured alcohol. Some people use isopropyl alcohol but I have never tried that. David
  17. I have never tried what you are talking about but I would deglaze them and then depending on what they look like go with the light oil. I have never used olive oil but have heard of it being used. Mink oil would give a darker look I think. I have used it on boots to help waterproof them and it made them darker. You can try sun tanning them it might work and if it doesn't you have just given the oil a little more time to dry. As for finishing them stay with something that won't crack and use light coats putting it on. If worst comes to worst there is always black. Sorry if I rambled I was trying to think it through. Good luck David
