If I were you , I'd start with something small before you dive into a sewing machine. You already have the cheapest sewing machine available. Your hands. As for tools and techniques, I would recommend you go to Tandy or another leather craft store and but beginner kit with a project that you think you'd like. Unless you want to invest a LOT of money on tools and leather without having any real experience. If you are new, you don't know what to use, therefore what to buy so it will be a lot of trial and error.
I started with a tandy kit three months ago and made the wallet abortion.
Last night, I finished this purse. But I spent at least 2000 bucks on all the HAND tools required to make the purse, and I don't even have a machine yet.
I also recommend reading a lot. Use the forum, buy leather books etc. and ask a ton of questions. Take a class if you can, make some stuff if you can't. Your pics are pretty advanced projects. Start smaller and learn from your inevitable mistakes.
