  1. He's dealer in Melbourne, I looked at a machine he had years ago and I ended up giving it a miss as he was so pricey for what he's selling. Yes and he did not seem to to be some one I would buy from. Bert.
  2. The closest list to what you need is this one, but it is only Singer, http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_machine_company/model-list/index.html All you can do is ask here and hope some one will give you an answer, I know this is not ideal, but it's how I'm still learning. Bert.
  3. Sorry if I got it wrong, but it would be great if it was possible, but i don't it it is. Never see or read anything to say you can. Bert.
  4. I have mine setup for spools. I got some wire similar to a coat hanger and make it to wrap around the reel holder pin and go over the top of the Driving Lever where I sit the spool at the back of the machine. You can see what I mean in this picture, I have the wire turn in to cover it. I have a loop in the middle, but you do really need it. Bert.
  5. The needle hole size is 230, which should handle thread that is 346 (T350) [Tkt 8] , but if you need heavier I have 328 needles with a hole size of30/330 which should handle thread sized 554 (T600) [Tkt 5] . The above information is taken from the link given by chrisash here, https://www.tolindsewmach.com/thread-chart.html Bert.
  6. I cannot see all of your pictures, but I would say it is a Singer 96K41. I have one out the back, but it wet out there to go and check. Basically a tailoring machine, but can sew light canvas and light leather. Bert.
  7. No problem, it's yours. I have a need to share. Bert.
  8. I have a parts manual, but it is to big to load here. Bert.
  9. Thanks Constabulary, I think I understand how they have shown the sizing. They seem to show it as a Singer 45 Needle, Size 230, when they should have shown it as a 328 or 214x1 or 2. Bert.
  10. I was just admiring your machine again, and I noticed your sewing table sitting there. My machine is setup differently, but I like the size of yours. Bert.
  11. What do you mean Catbird, the bobbin is loose or the bobbin thread is still loose? If the bobbin is loose, it maybe warn and needs replacing, if the thread is loose you may need to remove the tension spring from the bobbin case and clean under it, I have had lint build up under the spring a make it impossible to get the correct tension on the bobbin thread. Have a look at this Youtube clip is a good starting point, she gives some good information, Bert.
  12. If we were not in this lock down, I would go for a drive and say "Giday" and maybe go and have a look at that 132K6. But like dikman said, he might be willing to drop the price, I did not pay any where near that for mine, but I had a lot of work and parts to replace. The good thing with this old machine, you can still buy consumables for it today, I got mine from Sewing Machines Australia https://www.sewingmachinesaustralia.com.au/shop/buy-spare-parts/singer/singer-132k6 Bert.
  13. Wow, you are lucky, what a lovely old machine, I have an Adler 105-6 and wish I got half of what you got. Very nice. Bert.
  14. Pleased to hear all is good, it took me a while to get my head around tensions, change thread and check your tensions again, take the time to get it right again if needed on an offcut from your project. Bert.
  15. Thanks dikman, I was looking for that one, could remember where I saw it. I have a old type motor on my 132K6, which I have a smaller pulley on and it will sew through anything that fits under it's feet. I have only toyed with one with a servo motor on it and felt it had heaps of speed, but was short on torque, I think it needed a reducer on it to give it some grunt. Go and talk to them, take some thing with you and play with it your self. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/echuca/sewing-machines/singer-132-k6-sewing-machine/1245314602 Bert.
  16. The first lot of prewound bobbins I brought was from ebay, yes even I make mistakes, and I think the box I received said they suit my Juki 555-5, but I also had two other sizes in the box, some fitted the Singer 31K47 and I still don't know what the rest fit. The nylon bobbins in the Juki suffer from over runs, so I now turn the speed down to use them. Yes they are handy to have, but once they start to mess up, their in the bin. Bert.
  17. Your right Handstitched, sews what ever fits under the feet, just like my Adler 105-6, I slowed them to my speed and now I just keep my finger out of the way. If you want a new machine, yes your looking better then 3K, but if your patient keep your eye on ebay or gumtree, you'll find one at a reasonable price. I drove to Sydney to get my Adler. Bert.
  18. I have not had great luck with prewounds lately, I don't know if it was a couple dodgy bobbins or what, been winding them myself recently. Bert.
  19. Hi Fognozzle, I'm just down the road a bit from you. I was making a new peg bag out of two layers of glued canvas and when I went to do the seems I had to change from the Singer 31K47 to to my 132K6 as it was just to think for the little Singer. I don't know if the glue was the problem, but I was struggling to get the seems under the feet of the 31K47. You will need a machine that has good clearance and a bit of hand wheel weight to get it thru the seems. Bert.
  20. Silky I don't know if this would help, but I got some bobbins that where not the correct for the the number they where listed as, but they fitted the case so I used them, every now and then I would get the bobbin thread breaking for what I thought was no reason, then I realised that it was breaking after a bit of a fast run, I found I was getting over run from these bobbins, I tried a few things and I could not find backlash spring for this bobbin, but I ended up using some of the BBQ plate plastic like paper, it gave me a little bit of pressure but allowed it to slip okay. Bert
  21. The driven shaft is under the table along with the Transmitter (Clutch unit), so I assume it is driven from under the floor.
  22. If you use thin material you need to back off both top and bottom tension or you will have it puckering on you. On a couple of my machines I have two bobbin cases, one setup for lighter thread and one setup for heavy thread, that way it is quick and easy to change between light and heavier projects. Bert.
  23. I am pleased you have this machine working good now. I just had a quick look for your model and could not fine it, but this one may be close, http://www.dixiesewing.com/MANUALS/SINGERSERVICE2/111W101,W104-inst.pdf Bert.
  24. Do you have a manual for this machine, if so is it threaded as per manual? I don't think it's the bobbin, if you could post a picture of the threading, some who knows more then me might be able to help. Can you please post you photo's here, yes it is a pain to resize them, but in time this post may help some one else if they can see all of your post. Bert.
