  1. That is awesome. Can't wait to see the rest of what you make with it.
  2. Wow, the sheath is even more knobbly than I thought. Very cool. Thanks for the additional pictures! I've only worked with a couple of scraps of alligator - enough to know that it isn't easy to work with.
  3. That is awesome. You probably don't have it anymore, but I'd love to see if you have any more detailed pictures.
  4. Those are some of my favorite knife sheaths I've seen, lately. I especially like the the braided accents and the shape of the "fire starter" flap.
  5. Wow, that is a seriously awesome case. I can't even figure out how it all stays in there. Really nice. Ditto on the piece on your stitching clamp. Very nice work. And cool pictures, too.
  6. Nice! I have some of the black essex now - it's really nice stuff. I was thinking about your work recently, one, because I've been revisiting the fenice edge paint I gave up on (it's working well, though I think I want matte rather than shiny), and because I'm completely over the pigskin lining stuff, and was trying to decide if I should spring for some of the crazier thin leathers you sent me pieces of. This particular stuff would probably be sinful to use for lining, but I know some people use varieties of goatskin for that.
  7. Cool. What kind of leather are these made of? I don't know why I didn't see this back in July....
  8. Nice work! Of course, you're "ready" as soon as someone will buy something you've made. Most of us have started out small, selling things to people for the price of materials until we feel confident our work will last in someone's hands for long enough to start raising our prices. I used my first bag for a year or two, and that helped build my confidence in the longevity of my own products. The higher the demand for your products, the more you can charge. It's really up to you.
  9. Thanks! I'm vacillating between canvas, calf, and goat right now. I've never tried kangaroo.
  10. Ferg, what is your favorite lining material?
  11. Thanks guys, I'm going to run down samples from all of those suppliers, if possible, and see what looks good. I'm especially interested in the difference (if any) there might be between chrome and veg tanned deer. I appreciate the help, thanks!
  12. Thanks Ferg, I was even impressed to see some Horween bison at Maverick. That I really want to try at some point. My customer has specified they'd be fine with bison if I can't find a good source for deer. I'll check Hide House for that, though - seems like they'd have the one if they have the other. Also, I had no idea Baby Bison was a thing. That might be the perfect middle ground.
  13. Does anybody have a favorite supplier for Deer and American Bison? The only place I've ever seen it is tandy, and I've only seen it in one color, there.
  14. I was looking at you shop - I love the red little purse you made with the geometric stamping. Very cool! I haven't tried lacing, yet.

Thanks for sharing pictures of the process, huns!
  16. I've always had good luck with Maverick. They have nice Horweens and softer leathers. But, as JLS said, it depends on the type of leather you're wanting. I haven't bought from W/C yet, but I intend to.

  18. My favorite is the blueprint case. So cool! I've always wanted to make one, but never had the justification. I also love the gunbelt. Thanks for sharing pictures!
  19. I love both the knives and the sheaths. Very nice work on all of it!
