  1. I so missed Alexander's CB 3200 instructional videos! SO HEY! Found a few of them still exist on the Hi Tex site. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWqPhGzuAM31eIKemfCtjaw
  2. I LOVE posts like this: problem, video, trouble shooting/opinions, resolution! I go here first, spend a maddening amount of time researching, reading. Ponder, tinker (aka cuss), fix it or don't, possibly make it worse. Call professionals as a last resort. (After years of getting lost, I actually do ask for directions if necessary travelling. Just sayin'.) Best, David
  3. So what was the resolution? I have a 3200 and developed similar issues today. Arrgh. Thanks!
  4. “If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.” ― Henry Ford
  5. I have the 'red' Tandy press and the Weaver Little Wonder. The Weaver is great for rivets. (Mine came with the splash rivet die set.) A more elegant machine IMHO. Adjustable for different lengths of rivets. (Both companies charge too much for the die sets.)
  6. VERY nice. I scored one at an antique store a couple of years ago, the first I had ever found, and haven't seen one since. SCORE!
  7. Beautiful work! (I would like a picture of your tools/ bench seen in the background- I am a tool junkie)
  8. Beautiful! I want one! and I am sure others here will too!
  9. So, I spent the last 20 minutes or so reading this thread. Observations: > I ALWAYS learn from others here! No matter how often a topic comes up. Thank you. > extreme patience shown by all, answering questions with detailed answers. (I have a Cowboy 3200- LOVE IT! Still get to hand sew more than I want to. As many have said: there is no machine that will do everything) > LISTEN and LEARN from Wiz. > ^^^^^ LISTEN TO WIZ! ^^^^^ Older thread- wonder what the decision was or is??
  10. From a huge basement shop in my house (top picture) to a small condo (excavated crawl space) - moved 500 miles straight south from East Central Iowa to North Central Arkansas a week ago! Downsized life and shop- lots of peg board added last couple of weeks...still trying to get everything sorted out. Its actually been fun trying to organize.
  11. oh- and my fancy wood ruler drilled out for a hole jig.
  12. My first shoulder holsters. From a pattern purchased from Hellhound Custom Leather. I added the 'shoulder pad' to the pattern. I punched 136 holes in (3) straps (third holster not shown). Rigged up my harbor freight press for hole punching. Worked very well!
  13. BTW- first time (really!) that I ran into this...exceed my 3200 presser foot!
  14. my 2 cents: you start out thinking "well, for what I do....I wont need that big of a machine" ...yeah uh huh. I struggled with this question 3 years ago...then I saw a guy at a gun show using his Tippman on a holster..one handed...yeah, I am not that coordinated anyway. Agree with above...if possible try one out. Also, consider throat and presser foot capability. I know it is overwhelming, gritted my teeth, Hot wife says 'go for it" called Cowboy Bob...never have been sorry. love the machine. See the picture...cant imagine doing this manually. Again, just a leather butcher, hobbyist' opinion.
  15. "Not fair you blokes! If there was a quality minimum, I would never post anything!" "Even if you cannot be a shiny example of how to do something, you can be a warning of how things might come out! " You make a good point Rockoboy- I dunno...this belt though ....already on the second version...might be a third! uggh! Thanks for the comments and a good laugh!
  16. I appreciate the positive feed back. Thanks! The seemingly 'simple' projects can be such a challenge. I am working on a belt that is kicking my butt. Pretty sure I wont be posting pics!
  17. I retired at the end of July. Spent the last 4 years (off and on) adding tools, benches etc to my basement shop. Now that winter is here I have had some shop time. I have been lurking here for many years. Always learn something! Appreciate all of you and your contributions. THANKS!
