Video would not load...but then again I'm using my phone...that might be the problem. When I make vinegaroon I just fill a jar about 3/4 full with steal wool and fill the jar up with white vinegar and let it sit for about 3 or 4 weeks at least. Then strain and use. The only problem is the smell. ..it takes a long time for the smell to leave the leather.

Never had it come out orange...always clear after straining it through an old t-shirt or sock...sometimes a light rust color, but not as dark as yours. If it works, that's all that counts.

I use MLB it will darken your leather some.

I got mine from Gray Ghost. I just wet the area where I want to stamp...wait about 3 to 5 min. and stamp. No problems with the color.

Bit the bullet…ordered the Cowboy 4500--Complete Package…WOW—hope I did the right thing, it is a lot of money to put down at one time and a lot of items to sell to make up for the purchase, but I’m tired of sewing by hand and getting blood on my leather from the awl stabs and the thread cutting my hands. Ha-ha Bob is a good person to work with, I would highly recommend him if you have any questions about sewing. Bob said that it would be 3 or 4 days until it ships and that he would call with tracking number when it ships. Can't wait. I looked at the Cobra 4-P and they are really nice too…to me they look to be the same machine, except different color and with slightly different accessories—what I liked about the CB is that it has stainless steel feet and plates and that they are closer to my home state of Virginia…this saves on shipping. The price was within $100 of each other with the Cowboy winning because of the difference in shipping. By the way not to let Cobra Steve out...he is great to deal with and very informative also, he is the one who sold me on this class of machine, sorry Steve, I just had to save the $100, hope you understand.

Thank you...this will be helpful.

I was looking at the Tippmann Boss also, their customer service has a lot to be desired...on ebay they have a Boss listed with "Make an Offer" well I did...The offer was declined and the tab for "Make an Offer" was removed. Also I had requested a catalog when their sale was going on last month, at that time I spoke with their Sale's Manager...He told me that since I requested the catalog during the sale he would honor the sale price, since it was due to expire in a few days. Well to make a long story short, I emailed this manager on Monday and he would not honor his word. DON'T BUY A TIPPMANN BOSS. Call Cobra Steve and speak to him about a class 4. It is only a few hundred more than the Boss, when you add in all the extras that you would need to buy for the Boss. The Cobra comes with everything you would need to sew professional looking items. This is just my opinion, I know there are a lot of people who like their Boss, but I'm not one of them because of the way they have acted.

Just got off the phone with Steve...what a nice guy...answered all my questions...I think the cobra 4-P is going to be the one for me, as soon as the wife gives me the ok...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

To Stitch Or Glue
Troy I replied to Kanuist's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I agree with Camano Ridge...glue and stitch. -
I agree with Jack...gotta start somewhere...not all business owner's can stock everything all the time in all available styles, sizes or colors. Demand will show what will sell best. Ludlow Leather are great to deal with, if you have a special request contact them and ask...Instead of bad mouthing them!

I purchased a complete set with holder...they work well. Got these about 8 months ago.

Impressive! What more can be said. Maybe WOW

Congratulations...As soon as I save some pennies I'll have to give you a call...might be a while though...LOL that a lot of pennies.

Instead of ordering Oxalic acid...try Barkeepers Friend...you can find this at Lowes, Home Depot etc. I've used this with very good results. I mix it with water and then scrub with an old rag. The main ingredient in Barkeepers Friend is Oxalic acid. The cost is about $2.00 for a 21 oz can. Good luck.

I use a 2 lbs. Deadblow hammer. It is plastic with "lead" shot in the head of the hammer. Just like the one in the link from Electrathon.

If in doubt--return it...I would not keep it...

I use a wool dauber. ..A small paint brush..or an old rag like a lint free tee shirt. Thin 50/50 with water and put it on very thin. Most of the time I put at least 3 or 4 thin coats on my holsters.

What Leather Are You Buying?
Troy I replied to usmc0341's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
I just received some straps from Springfield and they were really dry and the even sent the wrong width...called them and they said that they were going to send replacements with a shipping label to return the others...As slow as they ship, I might get them by the end of next week. On a better note I just bought some straps from Sludlow (who I met in this forum)--what a great person to deal with. The straps I ordered from him were shipped Monday and the post office says they will be here on Wednesday. He had really good prices too, compared to Springfield Leather. -
Best Type Of Metal For Belt Buckle? Where To Buy?
Troy I replied to zaynexpetty's topic in Hardware and Accessories
I just ordered from OTB and the min. Order was only $30...shipping was a little high on first order, but that might have been because they included their 400 page catalog -
Try pro oil dye with a finish of an acrylic wax...like Mop-N-Glow mixed 50/50 with water...put on 2 to 4 light coats of this mixture. After this your dye should not come off...This is what I use on my holsters and have not had a problem. Another thing I do is put Montana Pitch Blend over top of the acrylic wax, just to help out with weather resistance. Of course let everything dry completely before going on to the next step.
