  1. Sorry it is so late - been running around all day. Here are the bottles I ordered on Amazon in 2017: 6pcs 1 Oz. Multi Purpose Precision Applicator Squeeze Bottles+ 16 pcs Needle Tips+ 6pcs Needle Tip Caps Sold by: D-WORTHY Return window closed on Oct 15, 2017 They cost $12.59 for 6 bottles and 16 tips. I checked and Amazon no longer sells this set. Here is a picture: You can can see the wide range of tips - I use the smallest tips for better precision. I think a syringe and needle would be too small unless you really dilute the paint. I use cheap acrylic paint from Wally World and thin it with distilled water so it flows through the fine tip easily. It has been holding up well in projects for a couple of years now.
  2. I’ll post a picture tomorrow and I will try to find the Amazon link where I purchased it.
  3. I use a small bottle equipped with a needle point to paint letters with acrylic paint. Allows for very precise placement of the paint. I then seal with Resolene or you can use the finish of your choice - everything I have tried seems to work okay over acrylic paint. Here is a project I worked on last night using the acrylic paint bottle. I bought the bottle and needle tips on Amazon, but you can probably find them at Hobby Lobby or other craft stores. Gary
  4. Gotcha - I didn’t mean to suggest you use the gator for the lining - just some thin lining leather in the color of your choice. Then you don’t see any of the flesh side. Anyway, nice looking pouch! Gary
  5. I like that alligator look! Only comment I have is that I think it would look even better with the belt loop flipped toward the back. I normally line the inside so you see the grain side with the loop toward the back. Might also prevent box from snagging on the bottom edge of the loop when removing the empty box. Nice job! Gary
  6. Thanks Jeff - I figured the limitation would be about what you show here. Will have to get some steel plates for support - those little ones supplied with the press won’t allow much under the press.
  7. Any idea what clicker die size limit this 6 ton press can handle? It pushes the small 2.5” die right through leather. What is the largest size clicker die you have used with yours? Don’t want to spend money buying dies too large to use with this press.
  8. I should have bought one of these a long time ago - can’t believe how easy it punches through the leather with clicker dies! Also set up my nephew’s 10 year old with a starter set - he has been over a couple of times and always asks to go make something. They are moving to Florida next month, so I hope he likes it enough to keep working at it!
  9. Picked up the 6 ton press today for $60 with the 25% discount. Heading down to set it up now!
  10. Jeff, That looks like just the thing I need! I see a trip to HF coming up. Do you just put a steel plate on top of the die? Gary
  11. I use the 1 ton arbor press for stamps and it is more than adequate for stamps up to @1” diameter. I had a clicker die made that measures @1.5 x 2.5” and it struggles with that a bit. Gary
  12. That is nice! How heavy do you estimate? Gary
  13. Very nice work! Colors go really well with the knife handle too. On a side note, all of my grandparents came to the USA from Poland in the late 1800’s - visiting Poland is on my bucket list. I love that food! Gary
  14. Now that you have the web strap attached I kinda like it - nice contrast with the bag! Gary
  15. Since you have the clips to connect the strap, why not make two straps - leather and web? Gives her the choice which one to use when she takes it out. You know how woman like to change up and accessorize everything! Gary
  16. I use a cheap airbrush from Harbor Freight. They cost $9 or $10. Works great. I don’t think you would get even coverage using a pump spray bottle, but I may be wrong. I bought a small compressor on Amazon along with a 5 gallon air tank. With all the fittings I guess I have about $100 in the whole setup. Gary
  17. I spray a coupe of coats of Resolene, then apply antique. Let antique dry for 20-30 minutes, wipe off excess, then respray a couple of coats of Resolene. Seems to work well for me every time! Never had much luck wiping on a finish after applying antique - always seemed to pull too much antique from the low spots. Gary
  18. Nice job! I like the color of the leather and I think your daughter in law will love it! Gary
  19. Looks really nice! Did you put a toe plug in it? Looking forward to seeing the finished rig. Gary
  20. That's a nice looking bag Mutt! How many hours do you figure you have in it? I also like the closure method. What’s with the extra holes/stitches in the picture of the pocket? Gary
  21. For thin edges like the window I would just apply a couple of coats of edge paint. Gary
  22. Nice looking holster! I see your stitches are very close to the edges. Did you stitch and then trim the edges? The last holster I made, I sewed too close to the finished edge and had a problem with a couple of stitches coming out too close to the edge on the reverse side will you share the type materials you used in construction? Gary
  23. Welcome to the forum! I really like your styles - beautiful designs and execution. And those are beautiful dogs - what breed are they? Gary
  24. Beautiful job with this! Please share type of materials and finish you used. Gary
