  3. hi linda, i think birsall has what you are looking for http://www.birdsall-leather.com.au/product.asp?id=105
  4. i just use regular acylics thinned with water. Createx has to be heat set using heat gun, hair dryer or iron. The better quality acylics dont lose their color when thinned.
  5. thanks tom
  6. hi pip, in the past i have been using 1mm but the last lot i had was not holding up very well, the last few masks i have made, i used 2mm.
  7. Congrats Wolv, this is such a great post. Hope everything goes well for you and the mom.
  8. thanks JR, most people who buy them wear them to fancy dress or masquerade parties, i like to think they then hang them on a wall.
  9. nice work, i am sure there will be a cake or two or three
  10. sweet work, its so much fun watching peoples styles develop and this style is so unique.
  11. So many layers of paint on this mask. it started out cream and yellow with a touch of red, then had a paint accident. kept painting, didnt like it, more paint, then it was ok...kept fiddling...ignored big sign that says "leave well enough alone" .... had to start again with a darker base color....here she is .... really tempted to paint over again, but i will look at it for awhile
  12. some more info i found Bob Basset is a virtual Live Journal user, behind it are four talented ukranian craftsman Oleg and Sergey Petrov, Andrei Patlin and Andrey Makaruk. These guys have started by making costume elements for the local Historical Reconstruction club. All the pieces were created using only original technologies. Their medieval and fantasy armor and weapons have made them famous among the local reconstruction and live role playing crowd. For the past few years they have been trying to turn their art into a business. They still make medieval armor and weapon replicas (they work with metal as well), they tried their hand in custom BDSM toys and costume elements, recently they have created a series of macabre leather masks. Currently they are looking for an investment to make a small leather works factory in Kharkov.

  18. my favorite movie of all time is The worlds fastest Indian with anthony hopkins. I think he is just a wonderful actor. I love all things scifi and at the moment cant get enough of Stargate, i watch it every night at 9.30pm. Lots of movies will always be worth watching again, Apollo 13, Silence of the lambs, to name a couple. Some of my favorite aussie movies are Crackajack and the dish.

    Maker stamp

hey ray, one of our members makes great makers stamps. Dbarleather made my stamp for me. I live in australia and it was far cheaper for him to make it and send it to me than to get one made in australia. You can send him your artwork or discuss with him what you need.
  24. thanks tim, it is great to see another tutuorial.
