    I got into leatherworking by making guitar straps for the custom guitars I was building and selling. Building guitars is very rewarding, and every custom guitar needs a custom strap.

    I have a 206, and will keep this in mind if I have a similar problem. I had my 206 go out of time one time, and I discovered that there is a silver button on the sewing bed you can press and turn the wheel to get it all back in time. Would this mechanism also readjust the presser bar lifting bracket?

    I wouldn't personally carry a striker fired pistol with an exposed trigger because I have read many documented cases of people carrying one like this and sitting down and something catches the trigger and the pistol going off like a jacket or the seat belt buckle in a truck. Read an article not too long ago where a police officer was visiting a school and child came up and pulled the trigger on his glock because he had an exposed trigger holster.

    Very nice. If my girlfriend of mom saw these, they would want me to make them a pair. I recently made a pair of nonwool mocs for myself. I looked at a pair and said, that looks easy. Well, it was a complete MFer, they look like a 3 year old made them, and I don't ever intend to make another pair.

    I bet that machine is 300$ less than a Cowboy because it hasn't been setup properly to sew leather which is what distinguishes guys like techsew, cowboy, and cobra sewing machines.

    I also use this tool to cut copper rivets. I use a set made by Channellock, and if I hold the nippers flush, it cuts the rivet the right amount. For me, the biggest issue is a good solid striking surface, It needs to be firm without any wiggle room.

    You can get an exact quote from Toledo, but itll be about 200$. A little less you pick up at a shipping center, and more if you deliver to a residential address and need a lift gate to get it off the truck.

    I did something similar removing some stuck thread from the bobbin area of my 206. needle went right through my index finger. wont be doing that again.

    I mix acrylic paints with distilled water. It needs to be runny enough that it flows well, but viscous enough that it goes on enough there is still ample color. After the leather is dry, I do about 3 coats of color. After its dry I seal. Something that bends needs a flexible top coat like resolene or mop n glo. Flat surfaces like leather folders can be top coated with a spray can clear coat. Be sure to oil the leather prior to painting. A couple light coats will do.

    If you aren't doing artwork, a cheap air brush works just fine to apply finish to smaller pieces. However, cheap air brushes are cheap, and they will break easily. But it is good way to try an airbrush without spending much money.

    I have always just used a spoon. Brush with the direction of the scales. No big problem.
