  1. Just finished messing with the holster for the Ruger P89 this is what I have so far, until I get some heavier machine thread I hand sewed this one. Not sure if I want to do anymore basketweave on it will have to see what artistic mood tomorrow brings.
  2. The stitching is amazing and I like the color, well done.
  3. Reminds me of an old saying about an individual that only had two braincells left and they were fighting, or the one about not being able to find your with both hands in the dark.
  4. Great work Ed, I like the expansion of your web site also. Do you sell only at auction? I did'nt see any pricing range on the site. Jordan
  5. GREED. The shipping and postage portion of the ebay thing is a dirty little secret they don't mention to often, unscrupulous vendors can and do charge whatever they can get away with.
  6. Very nice tracy, is that a stolhman pattern from his holster book?
  7. Mirage Technologies out of Fl. decent price and most are available in black if you don't like the blue so much.http://www.miragetechnologies.net/ I have had a little trouble finding the web site sometimes, it does'nt show up in searches.
  8. I iike it, well done from the standpoint of having an idea in mind and then doing it, thats how the seeds of inovation are planted, who knows maybe you will be the maker everyone copies one of these days.
  9. Don't know if this will work but I will attempt to load a pdf I came across awhile back, the site said it was free so I don't think it violates anything to post it. 1206purse.pdf 1206purse.pdf
  10. That is a very well done holster, been doing them for I while I'll bet..LOL. Would make the olephant proud, might piss off tigger though.
  11. Same problem. used an old parmesan cheese grater and a few drops of oil to make a paste that I rubbed into the leather strop.
  12. Thanks alot for the kudos, I will probably get to work on the ruger holster soon, so I will be posting some progress photos as it develops. Hopefully some of you and I can benefit from my trials and tribulations during the process. Hopefully the leather shop in North Salt lake has some thread that is a bit more substancial, their name escapes me at the moment and none of the sewing centers around here carry anything useful. If not I may be ordering some through the members on this forum, the natural white mentioned earlier sounded interesting. K-Man how much are we talking about per spool?
  13. I'm finished messin with this one. I think I saved it somewhat, can't tell from the poor contrast but I added a second stitch line, finished it with acrylic after a little neatsfoot oil. Time to move on to the ruger p89. That is a toolbag in the back hanging on the wall. Interfeared with the pic of the holster.
  14. I've got lots of needles, What is white natural ? or is that 2 different colors also is it a bad idea to used waxed thread in a machine?
  15. I have'nt a clue as to thread size, no label on it. Ed sent it along with the machine. There is a shop close by that I may visit today, they are a service center for most non-commercial machines but are well stocked with fabric threads and all that sewing type stuff, maybe they will have something if not I'm sure thet can order me some.
  16. I bought Ed's Neels Model 5 awhile back, got it up and running about a week ago. I have'nt used a sewing machine since I was a teenager so that would put it in the realm of ancient history, the key I think is practice adjust, practice adjust and then more practice. Hope is by spring I will have some items I will be able to sell and feel good about the quality and workmanship. One thing I need is some thicker thread, as I think a more pronounced stitch looks alot better.
  17. Thas why you be a freak, you crack me up. Seriously though hows the neighborhood? If the dang insurance companies don't stop draggin their feet, me, the wife and our 4 dogs may be movin into the box next door....LOL Jordan...BTW I have 2 tents and a stove!
  18. Thanks guys, I just couldn't leave it alone. Tommorow I will pull the stitches and try again I think 2 rows will work, I was contemplating lacing but as it is a practice piece that would take along time and I have the leather cut for the Ruger so as my nana used to say idle hands make idle minds.
  19. Screwed the proverbial pooch with this one, To much foot pressure caused the holster to slip sideways a bit, the stitching really got away from me. Anyway here is what I just finished messing up. Lost the stamping also. It is still wet and I moulded it using mostly my thumbs. I am going to soak them in the hot tub and not try to do so much on the next one lucky this is practice. LOL Jordan
  20. Measured in from the edge till it looked about right, 1/4" then scribed a fine line and freehanded over it with one of those tandy groover tools. I did use a straightedge for some of it though. Unfortunately I will be catching the edge of the belt loop piece on the backside when I stitch it together
  21. Thanks everyone for the pics, keep it up, I enjoy seeing where all this beautiful leatherwork is coming from "Shows to go ya" don't need all the bells and whistles to turn out quality LOL.
  22. 26 degrees and snow flurries adding to the 2 feet on the ground. This is getting to be a pain in the r ear I think I will modify my 5 year plan and move to Arizona asap.
  23. Looks great to me course I am not a rider or a maker, as a matter of fact I don't think I could even come close to making something as nice. Jordan
  24. Well it's been a few days and I decided to play around with the one I cut too small, turns out a Springfield Armory 45 will fit but without the sweat shield, here is a few photos of what I have so far, I think it will turn out ok. I have decided I am going to finish it with fiebings (sp) british tan and black edges but the best laid plans of mice and men will dictate the outcome. Jordan
