  1. I like the simple design and the tooling is very crisp. Well done and 2x on the wave for sure.
  2. Thanks Wiz an excellent suggestion as always. Its about 2 hours away but I have family nearby there so I may just go give it a spin if it stays on the market fro another week or two
  3. Thanks Jimbob. It is currently in use and has been regularly serviced...now I am back considering it...
  4. Thank you nylonRigging. based on the fact it is limited to about 1/2 and 277 comfortably and the "wimpy" needle I will pass.
  5. very well done and the customer looks very happy as well! and the dog....
  6. Seriously... tell him to sketch what he thinks he is asking for as starting point for your construction design.
  7. Any advice on its capabilities? max needle and thread and lift etc.?
  8. I have a line on a Adler Chandler model 190 harness stitching cylinder bed. Current user making tack and dog collars etc so working order and maintained. I can locate any original specs on max needle thread and lift etc. Any thoughts, ideas or experience with this machine?
  9. I wear Ariats all day everyday and if you could find out what style that is I would appreciate it. With the leather work you do I am sure your will be well funded for college. Keep an eye on the littlest one with the baton... he looks like a man with a plan and attitude to make it happen. You guys remind me of the Von Trapps from Sound Of Music!!.. but with more guys and gals.
  10. Fantastic work as always. Your parent make good kids! And what brand and style boots are they wearing if I may ask?
  11. Hi Rusagonis and welcome to the craft and forum. If you Google this phrase "how to align letter stamps on leather" you will get results on this forum. and some other interesting ideas.
  12. When I was looking to replace mine I went to Aaron Martin and they only sell the spring and screw which helps latch the plate in place. As I said I had one copied. They left the brass ramp piece square and I shaped it myself using the actual piece on hand and running the shuttle and checking for high spots.
  13. Very nice rig for sure and welcome to CAS land!!! Its a hoot. You have inspired me to perhaps upgrade my rig.
  14. You have been busy and it all looks great. Leather and the side arms.
  15. Thanks coma. I believe it will be my range holster for a while when I am not playing CAS or Wild bunch. I still want to make a paddle for the 1911s so I don't necessarily have to take my pants on and off at the range to switch guns and holster!!
  16. I have been working on this in about 5 minute increments for the last few months as I get a chance to walk past my bench... thanks to Jeff for the pattern. I will try to get better pics but this gives you the gist. nothing fancy. I learned a lesson about laying out the tooling flat then the attaching the wrap around... well wrapped around. the tooling line drifted away from the edge a little at the top.
  17. My machine arrived missing the same part. I had to borrow one and have it replicated. Good luck.
  18. Very nice indeed. May he never have to draw from it!... unless at a range of course. And I am an H&K fan even when they are blue.
  19. Well the Colts and Rugers are a step or three above my Piettas as lovely as they look and run... they do the job... also a Cowboy Action Shooter. And seeing this holster and pistol pair by AbileneEd and Son I am feeling like they need some new leather...
  20. Excellent work for your first and I agree its wonderful to see a son and father team at work. My son keeps threatening to want to learn but...then there is gaming so ya know.... As for some of the process discussion... for holsters I: cut tool then dye but YES do not soak it in die or you loose some of the crispness then assemble, rivet, etc. and I usually go once more with the colour after the wet forming while still damp - assuming I did lace or use contrasting thread colour. Only thing I would have done other than you did is run some boarder stamping or a bead around the edge of the flap and loop band but that's just my aesthetic.. nothing wrong with your clean look. Looking forward to more from your shop. And YES WHEEL GUNS RULE.. here are my favourites:
