So I just found it available for free on scribd and downloaded it from there. DEUCES, ____________!!! https://www.scribd.com/doc/46618313/6-Foot-Cowhide-Lace-Bullwhip

Yeah, I will NEVER buy that book so he can just keep it. I think it's wrong to freely offer a tutorial on here (gathering everyone else's free editing advice) and then remove the post so you can make a buck so I will not be promoting that behavior by buying that book...ever.

1. That's not correct. 2. EVERYTHING you find on google is not correct. These are all from professional websites that sell snaps: https://grommetmart.com/product/171/24-ligne-15mm-5-8-inch-ring-snaps-4-part.html http://www.sheridanleather.com/Ligne_24_Snaps_p/ligne-24.htm http://www.perfectfit.com/15328/Snap-Fasteners.html http://www.rochfordsupply.com/product_listing.asp_Q_catid_E_411_A_subcatid_E_454_A_prodid_E_3151 http://www.universal-fasteners.com/sk_snaps/sk_samples.html http://www.micronamerica.com/index.cfm/product/336_9/24-ligne-15mm-58-ring-snaps-4-part.cfm http://www.sailrite.com/PDF/Sailrite%20SnapRite%20Brochure.pdf Every single one of them refers to them as "LIGNE"...not "LINE". It's amazing that some people will go to great lengths in their wrongness just to appear "right"...unbelievable...

And if you're doing a FAQ, the correct term (since everyone always seems to want to be exact and correct on here all the time) is "ligne"...not "line"...

There are multiple threads on here that state that "S" and "Z" threads only make a difference in use in sewing machines.

Hey! I'm Interested In Creating Braided Leather Bracelets
25b replied to btrippy's topic in How Do I Do That?
If you're on Facebook, check out the rawhide and roo braiders' guild (http://www.facebook.com/groups/rawhidebraiding/) Lots of great folks in the group and they are willing to help if you have questions. "Knotty Linda" isn't in there though. -
I bought one a while back...the one I got had a thick, plastic handle which snapped the second or third time I used it. Pretty much worthless. Would be a lot better if you can find one that is solid metal...

If you're going for strength, do NOT use Cordura fabric...nylon webbing is far, far stronger than Cordura fabric. In the OP's stated use (reinforcement of a leather strap), there is no good reason to use Cordura fabric over webbing. I've been making and selling professional-grade (i.e. NOT "airsoft") tactical Nylon gear for over fifteen years now (probably closer to twenty), so I know the difference between these materials and am extremely familiar with their characteristics, both good and bad.

http://www.leathercrafttools.com/tools/punch/diamond-hole-punch/list.jsp Cheaper prices than Goodsjapan and their shipping is cheaper than goodsjapan also. No affiliation other than as a happy customer.

I'm not aware of any cheap sources for "Europeen Pricking Irons". They cost what they cost and I've never seen any available for any sort of discount. I've even asked some of the guys that sell used leather tools and they either never get them or they sell them to their friends or something because they say they're gone before they even list them for sale anywhere. Good luck. If you want "cheap", you might need to settle for the chinese made ones (craft sha or seiwa). They work well and they're not terribly expensive. If there were cheap European pricking irons available somewhere, the rest of us would've already bought them all up. They are in pretty high demand.

I got a copy of the WC Double book through interlibrary loan. I didn't find much useful information in it. I keep rereading it, hoping I've missed something since everyone seems to think it's this great book, but...no....not so much...

I think I know where the pendant came from...

3oz is not thick. There's no way it should have broken. This is a poorly-made device (won't insult other tools by calling it a "tool"...)

Yes, I've bought from leathercrafttools.com on multiple occasions. They are also in Japan. Their prices are pretty much always better than goodsjapan and that's whether you're just buying one tool or many. I'm very happy with them. Only affiliation I have with them is as a happy customer. When I had questions, they responded quickly and with pretty good English. Very easy to understand.
-
http://www.leathercrafttools.com/ has just about everything that goodsjapan does at better prices and cheaper shipping...I have not had to pay any duties on any packages I've received from leathercrafttools.com...others report having to pay duties on shipments from goodsjapan. Good luck...

There's no hostility. Just a statement of cause and effect. Nothing more. Just saying I'm not stupid enough to continue offering advice that will promptly be ignored.

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear. I bought the pattern from Nigel and using his videos, I made the exact same bag in the videos. I used all exactly the same leather for all parts, including the strap (except I made my strap double-sided)...
-
I made the bag in Nigel's video and used all the same hide for mine...

Care to share what other thread that would be please? I can never search for anything successfully on here...
-
Then they need to SAY THAT they need/want/must have elaboration and in the ORIGINAL THREAD. Then, all the info including previous suggestions would be in the same thread. If he replies to his original thread, everyone that didn't happen to see it the first time would've seen it when he bumped it. Posting the same questions in multiple duplicate threads only makes it harder for future users to search and find information. Wow...not really a difficult concept.
-
Ok, well there's no point creating a duplicate thread when he already posted exactly the same thing in the thread I linked to... ALSO, he said he learns best by pictures and video. The books I recommended have visual instructions to do exactly what he's trying to do. So actually yes, my post was helpful...unlike yours.

Did you get the books I recommended to you when you posted this same question a couple of weeks ago yet?? http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=62368&hl=

Canvas And Leather Weekender Bag
25b replied to coreysyms's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
You should make the dopp bag detachable with snaps or something so they don't have to carry the whole bag to the shower... Just an idea...- 28 replies
