  11. thank you for all the birthday wishes everyone
  12. you should write up a tutorial for these
  13. Interesting. I still do mine a bit different. I first glue a 1" piece on the back side of the lace come up through the hole and start wrapping. Once wrapped I brought the last wrap to the back side and up through the hole and started braiding with one continuous piece of lace and started braiding. For a two tone I did my glued splice on the back side and had figured out just where the new color would come up through the hole. But your changing colors would probably work easier. Also you are braiding to the out side of the V which makes for a wider V and I braid to the inside of that V which makes it a tighter V. I had a few people in my class that I taught do the wider V like you are showing. I also end mine by going around that last 3 and instead of going back through the whole I tuck it under on the top side. As to the finish, I use Carnauba Cream. If I am using natural lace or factory dyed lace I dunk it in it. then rub it in by hand which makes the bracelet softer and more flexible. While rubbing it in I also start shaping it into a bracelet shape. So even UN hooked it is in a bracelet shape. Great idea of a video on this one. It is so cool to see how some one else came up with "how to". Tom, Clay you should both write yours up bet they are different still. Well I am off to the Valley Fair to do demo's in our guilds booth here for the weekend. by the way my chaps and purse both took 1ST places and the purse took a best of show in amateur division. (unfortunately there was not much competition)
  14. I think I will pick my next boyfriend based on if he makes things I like because right now I have to make everything for my self if I want it. some of your spouses are lucky cause they have you to make things for them...... LOL Nice job.

    Carlos border

Had to look up what a carlos border was.... appears to be just like any meandeing tool border. The using the meander article that I found was called "MASTERING THE MEANDER' by Dusty Johnson. It can be found in the Mar./Apr. 2003 LC&SJ, page 30. If you dont have that issue let me know and I will see if I can get it for you
  16. Very cool, I have to ask is the sides of it a softer leather?
  17. Just thought I would share these too in case it might inspire some one else as all of you have me. Quick some one call the doctor I have Leather Fever and it's contagious!!!! No, wait this feels so good I don't want to be cured....... These are TV trays I did a couple yrs ago. Learned a lot on them. Like pre drill the hole a bit for the tacks as they tend to want to bend if you don't. And I think next time I would butt the tacks up.
  18. How funny, thanks though I have been told before I have a way of instigating things! Some time next week I will be showing a local lady how to do that stone and will just have to post that one too so you might as well get busy on making some of them.....
  19. The basket weave tool is Barry King's. All I used was X-1 on the purse
  20. Thought I would post this real quick during my break time. This is a purse kit I did for the Valley fair. You guessed it, I am one of those who always seem to have more then 6 projects going at the same time. That way when I get frustrated with one I can still do some leather work and work on something else for a bit. The pattern on it was for a saddle bag by Bob Brown. I just liked it better than the ones that came with the kit. Floral is really not my thing, ...... yet. I know with some practice I MIGHT get better at it. You might notice I did a couple decorative cuts on one part and then never went back and finished doing them. Well I got in a hurry to get it done in time for the fair that I was putting the X-1 on it when I remembered "oh no, forgot to go back and do that"! Oh well, live and learn.
