  1. Great job. I remember you showing the box a little while back. Glad to see it completed.

I've only been at it about 3.5 years. But there was probably almost 2 years of breaks in that time. I'm a late bloomer and a procrastinator.
  3. It looks great. I may have a template lying around from the late great Raysouth.
  4. I have ordered 6 times from NStarleather and everything he has sent me was great stuff, and well represented. Just letting you know he has great stuff.
  5. That is really beautiful. I just imagined myself walking down the street with such a dainty little backpack. Reminded myself of Shrek (not a good image).

Remember.... Slow is steady, steady is fast. Not rushing a step is something I really struggled with in the beginning. My hands won't take the tooling, but I was rushing at other steps. And, it showed. Now I force myself to take my time, even walk away and smoke for a minute. Doing small batches helps to slow down.
  7. Thanks for the update. Let us know how you like the leather.

    The deer looks really good.
  9. Well, it's a cool little accent I haven't seen before. Carry on with some more pics.
  10. I don't think you need any advice. That looks awesome. Did you find the edge on the top flap or dye it to the stitch line? I can't tell in the picture.
  11. Speaking of horse. I have been using some. And I love the pull up on it, but I'm not sure how it compares to cow leather; as far as toughness, wear, patinas? I know I love the smell of the cxl butt strips (Really doesn't sound right saying it out loud). Any insight?
  12. The dog looks fine. Those white patches are rarely solid white. But those blue eyes look like lasers that are about to pulverize that sweet puppy. But Hey, ya gotta try, right?
  13. Well that is an unusual project. Keep us posted.
  14. That is coming along nicely. Keep up the good work.
  15. Always be looking elsewhere for leather tools. A common hair dryer makes a pretty decent heat gun.
  16. He generally pops in every couple of days. He refurbishes old tools for resale. And he's been really helpful in the past with schematics and pointers. You could maybe try him on his website.
