  1. I will, that is all I could find as well. I'm bringing the other machine home soon. So I will do a thread for both then. Thanks
  2. That is a wonderful first effort. You can actually tell what it is, instead of it looking like a bunch of smashed impressions. On that beveling note. I know a lot of people use a casing solution. It involves some soap and allows the tools to glide a little easier. Maybe @YinTx could chime in on that?
  3. Nice job. On the next one maybe put the d ring on top of the flap. It would let the holder hang more flat and not pull directly against the stitching. I'm sure it's plenty strong though. And good job on those stitches.
  4. That will take some practice. There are some fillegree punches out there. Maybe those could help?
  5. Yes, it is a flat bed. Sorry for the high jack. I just got a little excited seeing anything about a 108.
  6. I acquired a 108-3. Do you know anything about those? I haven't found much on the web. Your's looks great.
  7. I don't know what it's called. But it is made with a swivel knife and a seeder.
  8. I nicked a belt design the other day. I have enough scruples to not go out and sell it. It was a good idea. A great idea. But it was a 20 dollar belt with an 80 dollar price tag. I don't think the concept was worth 60 bucks. So, I made one for my work vest. I'm also making myself and a friend one.
  9. Thousands of dollars later, I got a belt and a wallet.
  10. Yep, just like all of us thought, "hey, I'll just make my own sheaths and belts. I'll save a tone of money." Hahahahaha!!! Your work looks very clean.
  11. Have you tried stropping the skiver blades? I strop everything, even the tiny strap cutter blades. It makes a difference. I haven't done much skiving myself. When I think back, it did take awhile for me to gain consistency with sharpening. Don't give up. Keep trying. Sharp tools make all the difference.
  12. Not that I know of. Maybe try setting up a booth at a craft show.
  13. "I haven't blue myself in over 5 years"
  14. If anything can it would be tokonole. That stuff flattens almost anything.
  15. Oh, it looks just like the ocean blue I got from NStarleather. My mistake.
  16. He has stuff in there for even making a few tools. The book is less than 20 bucks. I'm not sure I would count my headknife in the double side category. That thing is super thin. I think the blade might be a 1\16 and tapers way back on a convex edge. I have had it over a year and have only had to strop it.
  17. See that is probably the difference right there. I also have large hands, but short sausage fingers.
  18. I still struggle sometimes with an unevenly sharpened edge. You just have to keep at it. As far as skiving goes, most knives I have seen are single edged. But I have seen them turned either way in the videos. Maybe a super skiver would be best for now. Oh and after that long post this morning I forgot to mention this.... The title really is a great description for the book. He has all kinds of little tricks he shares in this.
