If you're referring to the thread about the draw gauges, he posted it in the "help wanted" section. That is for (I guess) business level members. People requesting services post there to find a contractor. You may need to be an advertiser or a certain $ contributor to have the freedoms there.

I use the Tandy strap cutter. I strop the blades on it and it cuts like butter. I have one of the draw gauges with a Terry Knipschield blade. That thing is just scary. I used it once, then put it away. I don't like that blade sticking out. PS can this be moved to "how do I do that?"

Trust me, it's a tiny drop in the bucket compared to what you will spend on this addiction.

First two projects
bikermutt07 replied to JamesMcn's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
It looks like you're off to a great start. You may want to watch some stitching videos. Maybe get yourself a wing divider or even just a straight edge for your stitching lines. Nigel @ armitage leather has some good ones as well as leodis leather. Try not pulling the stitches so tight. After you stitch give them a little tap to help them lay down. Keep having fun. -
That is a nice little simple wallet. Good job.

I need some ideas for weekend projects
bikermutt07 replied to ewayne53's topic in Leatherwork Conversation
Knife sheaths shouldn't be a problem. Go get them both a knife. Then precut the sheathes and mold (if needed). Then they will have time to tool and stitch. You could have it all ready to go when they arrive. And who doesn't love a knife grandpa gave them? -
About once a year we set a bunch of granite scrap next to the street. You'd be amazed at how many people need granite once it's free. I always call the staff down at Tandy to let them know.

All most makes ya feel bad, doesn't it? Them ugly things are gonna last forever. Yep, and I have officially sold a key chain, a wallet, five coin purses and a bracelet. Practically rolling in profits.
