    I tried the m90 the other day. I only used it for a binding strip. And that was leather to leather. Here's what I learned. Spray a light to medium coat. It like to bubble. So with everything still taped off, drag a rag across it. It will remove and keep bubbles from forming. After I did that, I removed the tape and wax paper protectors. It worked well, it flashes faster than contact cement, and the spray is much faster to apply, while the fumes disperse more quickly. I liked it.

    Actual tanneries are probably trust worthy on their grading. But I think w&c is the only one I know of who sells retail with no minimums. I could be wrong on that. We haven't discussed tanneries in awhile. Hermann Oak also sells retail but at a 10 hide minimum. Springfield will do ya right, or at least try to make it right when it's not.

    You would absolutely adore my wife. She is an amazing middle School art teacher. And she has that real artistic passion. I'd be happy to share some of her stuff in a pm.

    Truth be told they are probably a tannery run that Springfield has separated and graded themselves. This is common among retailers and nothing out of the ordinary. Springfield folk seem to be pretty good to deal with.

    Teaching a lesson could escalate expense really fast. What age kids are you teaching? Just thought about this.... Visit Springfield Leather's website. They have a videos page. Watch the one called how to be a hero. Heck, watch them all Kevin and Rusty are a hoot.

    Ok more time for a more elaborate answer. Get yourself some dies for production run items. Then hand cut those special one of a kind premium bands. That's what I would do.

    Love the red and white pattern on the back. Curious as I don't have any experience with rodeo chaps, is that buckle and strap in the front heavy duty enough for bull riding?

    Man, that is an ambitious first project. I love the design and it is a wonderful concept. Everything you need to send a message in a bottle. If you have some woodworking and metal tools you could make some tools. Bend the end of an old flat head screwdriver. Take a small round file to it and you got a beveler. Stitching will come with time. Time practicing and taking time to slow down on them. No worries. In 6 months you will be able to do so much better that you will wish for this protector to disappear, but it will out last you. It is a really great effort. Great great first try. It is always cool to see what someone else will come up with around here. Even someone who has never made anything before can have a completely original idea.
