  1. well shucks I just saw this, I must have missed it way back when. I just made my monthly trip down to Tandy so next month I will have to look that up or have them mail it to me, thanks for the get back, I need to remind myself to look sooner at stuff I post.
  2. sorry for taking so long to get back to you, I did buy one in that should be here tomorrow ( Saturday ) and I also bought a CZ 97 B by accident so I am pondering on keeping it or trading or selling so that I could get something else. Thanks for the kind offer, do you use the blue guns or do you use one of the other makers guns for making your guns?
  3. There are other options depending on your budget, I also have owned one of the above mentioned sanders, however they are the bottom rung of sanders. Let us know what type of budget you have so that you can be directed to other sources for what you will need.
  4. I have ordered on but it is going to take about 20 days to get so I was hoping someone here might have one I could borrow or rent as well? If some one does please send me a pm. Thanks Ron
  5. I don't want to come across as an arse here but you are using the wrong terminology, you want to make a mag pouch not a clip pouch, magazine and clip denote 2 different animals to people in the gun - shooting world.
  6. Bob maybe thinking that your equating origin to quality!
  7. no problem if something changes let me know.
  8. So r you offern to make some up fer the members here ifn they need one er what? Where bouts in missoura are you
  9. I have an aluminum mold gun that is molded from an RIA that I have used to make a few holsters from, if you need to use it I can send it to you just shoot me a pm with your shipping info, one note though it is a full length model not a compact, so just let me know.
  10. Red, you mention that you use a number 3 edge beveler, what I have noticed is that not all bevelers are the same even from the same seller. Case in point is the new style from Tandy is different from the wood handle style beveler that they sell, so my question is which type are you using? Or would it make much difference between types? As a side note the number 3 from Tandy with a rubber type handle is much larger than the wood handle type, so I was wondering if it makes much difference. I haven't had any caffeeeen yet so not sure I made any sense.
  11. for being out in the hot area I still liked it, I miss being there, we moved out here to TN 3.5 years ago and would give up this humidity for that heat but other forces in my life say no so here is where its at for now. Good luck with your drive up there.
  12. Well heck we used to be neighbors, we use to live up off of 74 then moved over right across from the Lake by 4 corners, how long you been in that area?
  13. It was just a long weekend so they could have taken an extended vacation, I have not had any problems reaching them, but have never called right after a long weekend. Your in Cali where I hail from and if I was still there I would probably drive on over there but that is me, I mean shucks there in Ontario right off the 60 fwy. Good luck and keep trying.

What is the minimum to order at that price? Gotta have a katch ta git it at that price range?
  15. welcome to the site, and your correct Tandy is one of the sources, however there is a leather guild near Nashville. I am not real sure of where it is Keven the manager at Tandy gave me the info on one occasion but I did not hang on to it, as transportation is a problem for me so I didn't think I would be attending any sessions there, but do understand that some people have come in to give classes, so if you give Keven a call you might find it is more local to you and can make use of it. O n S Ron
  16. someone will snatch it up, I don't think it matters what time of year it is, if someone is looking for that type of gun, with that type of mounting system then it will get sold. Now I kind of figure that you and me are bout the same age just different backgrounds, when I was in professional photography over 30 years ago in the Los Angeles market I learned 1 thing don't discount it, the quality of your work does not call for a discount, it makes people start looking at ya funny and wondering whats wrong with your stuff. Just my 1 cent worth, but like with the other holster if your honest with people and tell them that there is an oppsie and your discounting because of it they'll accept that again just my 1 cent worth.
  17. Welcome to the board, hope that you find what you are searching for here, I am by way of birthright a Los Angeleno, we moved from the IE 3 years ago to TN and started working on leather and searched of fro this site, and the info that I have garnered here has become invaluable to me and what I do, so again good luck and post what ever for what ever reason and someone will come and post a response just give it times.
  18. anyone use one? anyone know where to get one at a reasonable price, and do they work up to what you expected and what do you drive it with? Thanks
  19. one other method is to use an Ozone machine to remove the odor, that is the method that companies use to clean up and remove odor and mold, If you google ozone machines you might find one for lee than 100.00 but are generally more than that.
  20. There are a lot of Kydex holster makers out there jumping on the bandwagon for leather belts, as well as leather workers. I am a member of the USCCA for the insurance that they they offer to concealed carriers and in the publication are several adds for makers that offer belts, one is bigfoot gunbelts, they offer a stainless steel lined belt if you look them up you'll see that they offer their belt with complete straps from one end to the other. Now as mentioned above the ends do need to be skived down so as to not bulge and also be able to fit under the keeper when done. The above maker is just one of many as I mentioned but I have also been asked if I offer the belts with either a Kydex or metal liner so I am in the process of offering both, it does take a little more time to work with, and you also need to find a price point that will let you remain competitive in the market. There is another maker that comes to mind when thinking about hybrid holster and belts and that is Aliengear, they came on the market a few years ago and have grown considerably in a few years and also offer the belts. It never hurts to look at what others are doing to know what is going on in the market place until you can develop a niche of your own.
  21. Jeff are you using W & C for your leather and do they offer a belt or holster cut when ordering from them like the other 2 do? I have not ordered the belt cut yet from either and open to suggestions other than teaming up with others, it is not that I am against teaming up to order it's just there are many around me that can place an order of that nature including myself. Thanks
