:wtf: Bloody oath!!! Does it get any better than that? That's a fracking stunning load of shell fish. I am thinking that those mutant monsters must have come from another galaxy far far away. Nothing like inviting aliens for a Barby!!! I reckon they could be ETs. Extra Tastey! Forget about..."A Dingo ate me baby" as I think the kid must have wandered too flaming close to the water. Jesus, Joseph and Mary Bev I think you have brought me close to tears. Outstanding stuff!!!! I have to go back to sleep and dream of popping Crays out of the river with a 10' Bullwhip!! Thanx mate, Love your fishy photos! Storm

Hi Bob, That will do Pilgrim , that will do! I love everything about this saddle! :You_Rock_Emoticon:The color is primo! What did you use to finish it off? The Duke would be proud!!! How long did it take you to make it? There would be a few hours of work in this one. Thanx, Storm

Arrowhead basket with in the entire center of the bib. Along the lines of the cartridge rivets 1. Tandy has a cool shotgun shell concho. 2. Get a box of empty shell casings and cut them down so you only have the base and use a small rivet in place of the primer cap. In this manner you can have a variety of calibera available...like .45 or 9mm and so forth. Want to think about the really decernibg customer then a fully hand tooled panel held in place with quality hand chased silver buckles. Then throw in a matching tool bad and a pair of saddle bags and you have an iron horse any cowboy would like to own. Might as well do a matching seat to complete the whole thing. Check out the attached. Lord have mercy!!! Be still my foolish heart!

Now there you go! I would have tried the same thing on my Ex but she didn't drink! Storm -
I just got through making one from scratch so here was my approach. I used some heavy brown craft paper from Walmart. I also got a reasonably priced adjustable curve from Staples a Staedtler 971 60-18. First I measured the wrist diameter second I used a ruler to see hoe far up the arm I would go and at the top I took anther measurement around my forearm. I also added another inch and a half for an overlap. On the craft paper draw a center line that is the length from wrist up the forearm and using that as your center measure half the distance to the right and half the distance of the wrist to the left. Repeat at the top. Use the large flexible curve by using its center on the center line and draw connesting the right and left sides at the top and bottom. You may have to do it a couple of times but from the paper pattern you can generate a pattern on matte board or plastic. Then cookie cutter both the left and right sides using one pattern. Hope that this help a bit. Storm

For what it's worth that mushrooming looks very pronounced and the same degree on both chisels. I am also looking at what appears to be flattening on the chisel points which leads me to believe you might not have been using a poundo board or something similar. In over 30 years I have never had a tool mushroom like that and would agree that the only thing I can think of that would do it is a metal hammer. I too ask the question why are you using a lead pencil directly on the leather? Another tip I can come up with is to push your chisel points into beeswax. The thin layer will make the chiseling go much quicker and cleaner. I have also felt that next to a swivel knife your mallet is your next most and important tool. Good luck and let us know how it turns out. Storm PS: The only person I ever heard of that used a metal hammer was "Billy 2 shews". Granted it mushroomed his tools but he's one of the finest around. Check out his gallery here on the site: http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?app=gallery&module=images§ion=viewimage&img=465

Storm thanks for the kind works and trying to pursuade Leatheroo to use one of my whips, you are a good man !!! lol No worries! Hate to say it but it is a bit of a stinging commentary on todays youth. HA! Or isn't that what our folks used to say about our generation? Although my Da never needed anything other than his hand. It always seemed as big and hard as an old iron shovel covered with the calouses a man gets working 10-12 hours on a ranch. As I recall my kid brother and I used to think more than two or three times prior to getting into some sort of trouble. Storm

Ah come on! A small stock whip ought to do the trick Caroline. LOL!

Now you are cooking with gas! You did a great job on the accordian. Nice piece of figure carving!!!! Now celebrate by going to East of Laguna for a pizza. That is if it still exists. LOL! They had the best selection of beer I have ever seen. Had my first Fosters Lager there. I miss Northern California! Storm

That looks really good. Wish you had a closer view. I'd love to see a more detailed shot of your florals and the accordian. Very clean construction! Storm

Got hired to Ghost Carve a passport case for a friends daughter. She wanted someone to carve the case and she will finish it by lacing it up. Sort of a gift for her new husband to be who is a paramedic.

Cane Toad Skin Inlay Belt
Storm replied to Handstitched's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Very cool piece. Now having lived in Australia for some time I am aware of what a bloody pest Cane Toads are. They rank right up there with rabbits. I have an idea for you. As they are so plentiful and an such why not start a business tanning and exporting the little buggers. Mulitple designer colors and such and you could start out with black, brown, tan, and so forth. They are rather sizeable as you know. When I lived in Darwin I knew some guys who did sea snakes and they were as soft as a babies bum. How much do they charge for one tanned cane toad? Love to see some more! Storm -
Try this one. I created it for a guys motorcycle seat and he changed his mind. Storm

Beautiful and clean! Good filagree on the name. Storm -
Here you go Rose! Found some ideas of the trading cards you were talking about. I am thinking about 3x5 or 5x7. That would give enough space to work on and create. Storm
