  1. Ok, I know it's been a while since I posted anything but I thought I'd share this one with you... This is a seat for a buddy. He owns a Tree Service. He's having a custom IronHead Harley built by another buddy so I offered my services as well... So, Here's a few pics of the project so far... It's going to be all natural colors. Lots of shadowing and shading but no color. I made a play on the "West Coast Choppers" logo and came up with "East Coast TOPPERS". TOPPERS Tree Service is the company's name... Let me know what ya think! There is still a LOT of work to be done, but it's off to a good start...
  2. The Double-Action "Deluxe" from HF is a darn fine tool for the money! I use one and it works fine, I"ve never had a problem with it. For the money, you can't go wrong. And if you find out it's not for you, you're only out a few bucks. If you find out you need more, then invest in a more expensive one.
  3. That is spectacular Dave! You NEVER cease to amaze me!
  4. MDF is Medium Density Fiberboard (also known as "Particle Board"). You can get it at any home supply store (Lowe's, Home Depot, 84 Lumber, etc.). Scientifically speaking, MDF is stronger than plywood, however, unless you seal it, the moisture in the leather will eventually ruin the MDF. It's best to stick with solid wood. That's just my opinion....
  5. It's an awesome bag man!
  6. That seat kicks ass Roo!! I especially like the rivets! Very clean look!
  7. Legal or not, that's a damn fine seat!
  8. Very nice looking belt Max! Clean! And your edges look superb!
  9. Agreed! The whole transaction went off without a hitch. Attila was a great guy to work with. Very polite, very fair and was a pleasure to do business with! I look forward to working with you in the future and hope your business prospers! Talk to you soon!
  10. My wife (MaggieS) and I, live on Florida's "Space Coast" and have now for about 30 years. We're about 15 minutes away from Kennedy Space Center, about an hour south of Daytona Beach, an hour east of Orlando, only about 20 minutes from Cocoa Beach (25 minutes to Dave's (DCKnives) house). We can watch them light the fuse on the Space Shuttle, then walk outside in the front yard and watch it until it's out of sight. We take it for granted because we see it every time, but I'm still mesmerized by the pure brute force it has. The windows shake and the sky rumbles. You can feel it in your chest... It's breathtaking! Here they're lighting the fuse .... This one shows the VAB (Vehicle Assembly Building). Just to get an idea of the enormous size of the VAB: (Height: VAB - 160meters (525 ft), Height: Statue of Liberty - 93 meters (305 ft)) Almost twice as tall as Lady Liberty! Here's a link to learn more about it. On a clear day, you can watch it until it's almost in space! Here's a night shot! It lights up the skies like sunrise! If anyone is interested, I could post some pretty cool "insider" pics of the new Aries Rocket... Just let me know...
  11. Very nice work! I really like the color! Keep it up!! Troy
  12. I dig the hell out of the Indian Larry seat! I have a Larry seat planned in the very near future... stay tuned... Troy
  13. Here's a link that shows you how to make line art from your own photos. http://www.melissaclifton.com/tutorial-comicbook.html
  14. You do damn nice work!

  15. I have a friend that tooled a very nice Buffalo Head Nickel piece for his bike. It was a backrest. On the front of the backrest was the HEADS side of the nickel, and the back was the TAILS side with the buffalo. It turned out spectacular! He has real talent! He tooled it, then laced it with a Mexican Basket Weave and finally stained it with Mahogany antique gel from Tandy. It looked great in the house, but once the sun hit it, it just wasn't the color he was trying to achieve. He showed up at my house and after a few cocktails, (I do my best work that way), we ended up airbrushing it black. Well, that's the color we were going for, but because the piece had already been stained and sealed, the black dye didn't soak in like normal. After airbrushing several light coats of Feibing's Black, it looked like all was going well, then the dye started to take on a very odd hue. It started turning a metallic copper color! It was incredible! After it dried for a couple of days, it was the most awesome copper color you can imagine! It looked like an antique penny! I don't have pictures to show you now, but I'll get some and post them. Some of the coolest things happen by complete accident!
  16. Very cool seats! I especially dig the Indian Larry seat! I have one my own Indian Larry seats coming up soon! I'll be sure to post pictures! Keep up the nice work!
  17. PM sent...
  18. This forum is a GREAT place for advice and help. However, snapping at the entire forum for not helping you fix YOUR MISTAKE immediately is selfish and rude. You'll get a lot more bees with sugar than with vinegar.
  19. I had to remove a period from your link to make it work... Here's the corrected link ... http://www.boingboing.net/2009/08/27/steampunk-science-mu.html Congrats Tom!!
  20. Hell yeah! Tell him to step up production, you have more seat ideas! LOL! Nice job man!
  21. Very nicely done! In your face Subtle!
  22. A heat gun applied gently and an old shop rag.... Heat the thread then run the rag over the area... Some wax is removed but not enough to allow unraveling and fraying... Also, you can use the heat gun over you sewn seams once complete. The wax settles into the leather and no chunks of wax in the holes .... My 2 cents worth ...
  23. I like the hell outta that !
