  1. Ok,you knpow the part that holds the race in follow it over the the right & it looks like a bushing just underneath it is the screw to loosen.
  2. I forgot to mention that I don't know of a repair manual for the 7 class. Bob
  3. Christopher, How much side play does the hook have? The race(the part that holds the hook)has a plate on the backside that sometimes gets old thread & dirt behind it,so you can take out the 2-screws that hold itin & take the screw out of the back that holds the spring & this plate on & clean it out.#2 If there's still alot of play the race can be wornout. #3 looking underneath just to the laft of the hook area you'll see a screw w/a big head on it that goes into a clamp you can loosen this & move the whole race left & right re-tighten the scew as tight as you can get it when your done. Bob

    Singer 29 K

    I have a new one for $49.00 + shpg
  7. Well if a flatbed will work for you & you can get it for under $1,000.00 it might be worth getting because for $2,095.00 +shpg you can buy a brand new Cyl arm machine. Bob
  8. Forget that model of Juki & get the Singer (take your leather along & see how it works)
  9. Wiz is correct it's a tacker,it sews the length on the slot it looks like maybe 4" long. This machine is used in draperies. I just sold one like this a couple of weeks ago to a Drapery Shop. So don't even think about tyring to sew leather on it. Bob
  10. Marie, I just checked & have 3)packs of#20's in stock & also have some #21 too. Bob
  11. Have you adjusted the lift yet?You should have to raise the pressure bar up approx 1/4" this will give more lift under the roller>The reason the foot swings is so you can thread ur needle, because as you swing it down it goes lower by way it's made. Bob
  12. Marie, I'm pretty sure I have them & will let you know tomorrow when I get back in the shop. Bob
  13. When you time the hook do you have the needlebar go up 3/32"before the point of the hook is at the needle?
  14. Heck Yeah!! I'd give her $200./00 too!!That's a great deal.
  15. Art is correct it's a Pfaff & it's a high lift either 145 or 545 depending on bobbin size.Great machines. Bob
  16. Blindhem is used on pants, dress pants you sew on the inside & the stitches don't show on the outside.
  17. This is a blindhem machine for pants & draperies most parts are still available.
  18. Mimi, I just thought I'd get my $.02 in here. Most of the time the pulley comes off w/o any problem, just be sure to loosen the set screw first.IF it doesn't want to cooperate you can put a larger wrench between the back of the pulley & the motor & pull the clutch arm down & it acts like a puller & after it slide off a little you can lift the arm up & put a screwdriver behind the wrech to fill the gap & pull the arm down again. This is how we've done it for years if they are tight. HTH, Bob
  19. The 11w151 wouldn't be to bad of a machine for leather as itll sew to 5/16"thick & with the needlefeed it can pull it through. The 111w or alittle better than the 211 because they have a larger heavier handwheel. There are some feet available for them too like a zipper foot with the toe on the left or right & also a foot w/a nylon bottom that helps the leather feed better. Bob
  20. Alot of older machines needed the thread lubed because all they had was cotton & linen thread that had to be lubed to sew, nowadays nylon thread you really don't need it until your sewing around 3/4". There is silicone thread lube avaiable .
  21. It's a 17" Singer 11 Class,alittle shorter than the one in the pic.
  22. Here's a Singer 98-2 Singer made for sewing tires together for recapping in 1915 Singer 30",11Class used for sewing buggy fenders & dashes
  23. Great looking machines,I also got bitten by the old machine collection bug & when we moved into our larger building I had a room set aside for them but had to use it for something else . So here's a few pics of them. The smallest one is Singers first model of Industrial machine, the 2nd is called the Standard & the 3rd is a 3-1 Harness machine
  24. The 563 is a good machine that has been replaced by the 1508 which sells for $2,200.00. So a good used machine 563 sells for $8-1,200.00 I have alot of customers using them & they work good as long as your careful when pulling up the bbobbin thread when you start. The Consew 206 & Chandler 406 are also good machines & with the horizontal hook the don't jam up as easy & will take #207 thread were the max the 563 like is 138. HTH Bob
  25. If you have the book go to the stitch length page #10&11 you need to push on the button on the bed just to the right of the plate over the bobbin Let me know if you need anymore help. I have the manual & can copy off this part. Bob
