We stock market feet & other parts for the Adler 67's for alot less $$ than Adler sells them for.And if you have an Adler you should try to buy another Adler if you need a 2nd machine so the feet & etc interchange.
-
@Wellington This code means it does not have drop-feed,it would be a machine more suitable for binding.

Put some oil on the bar just ahead of the lower circled part, you could try tapping on the rightside of the L-piece just above the small bar.One more thing to look at is on the first pic,you have a lifter bar that picks the foot up,take it off & the then take the big headed screw out & look at the bottom, there's a release pin there that could of slipped backwards holding it up.

Put some oil in the bushings there's an upper & lower one where the bar runs through. Then push or tap on the foot & it should go down.Don't loosen the circled screw.

I'll agree with the rest of them, this seller is clueless about machines or he wouldn't be running it w/o the needle plate on it! They could had at least cleaned it up & put a needle plate & outside on it b4 the vid!Probably pretty well worn coming from Lazyboy.

Singer class 7 double needle has a issue
CowboyBob replied to 1985's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
It looks like a 7-38,the wear your looking at is normal, the takeup doesn't move @ that point so the thread can be picked up by the hook.Oil everything on it that moves & there are places when you spin it it might get alittle harder to turn like when the feet lift do to the action against the pressure foot spring. -
Seiko and Juki compound feed machines
CowboyBob replied to Wilder's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
The problem with the Seiko CH8B is there isn't much available feet, needle plates & etc for it like the more common 441 style machine. -
When looking @ it turn it clockwise.
-
@kgg Did you look @ the other machines he has for sale? He really gives them all a sales pitch,I'll bet he's on ebay to trying to pawn these off too as Heavy Duty! He has a 31-15 listed for $400.00 w/table which would be a way better choice than the little portable machine with the pulleys.
-
It should sew to 3/8".Like most Industrial machines you can unbolt the head off of the stand & haul it in 2 pieces. The head weighs around 70lbs.

It's the same machine as a 31-15 just 3" shorter & has a roller foot.Use regular grease (wheel bearing type) will work on the motor bearings.
-
Oops!Thanks for catching it.

@AlZilla I just saw 3 of these spindles on ebay
-
But you will run into problems where it isn't going to feed properly since the feed dog doesn't go up when it goes back & drops down when it goes foward. You need something like a Consew 227R or Juki 341 type of machine with what's called a 4 motion feed.
-
Sorry, they have been discontinued yrs ago, usually the threads are broken on the shaft making the spindle unusable. If you release the tension(or take out screw BB & back screw CC out) on the stitch mechanism it(spindle) will slide all the way in & use screw CC to adjust the length & then reinsert CC to lock it from backing out.
-
Is it looping underneath when it does this?If so you might need to tighten your upper tension.
-
@AlZilla It's made that way so it has tension on the outside & doesn't turn as your sewing,it got bent because someone tried jamming it in there w/o backing out the screws to release the tension.
-
If you can get that spindle back in there,if you can't just get a piece of metal the size of the spindle, taper the end ,push it in all the way & you can take out screw BB & use screw CC to adjust the stitch length. The spindle will go in alot easier if you backed the CC screw.

138 is about the largest you can use.
-
This is for a walking foot machine BUT everything is the same except you don't have the walking feet parts to adjust. 111w101.pdf

This is a needle feed & unless someone changed it it should take a 135x5 for cloth ,vinyl & webbing & a 135x8 for leather it's about 1/4" shorter than the 135x17.

Ferdco Pro 440r threading - manual’s diagram no help
CowboyBob replied to PasoLargo's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Here's a Singer manual. You need to go around the tension on the side 1 & 1/2 times so the thread can grip the tension pulley. 45Kmanual.pdf
