Yep It's a very good machine. It's replacement, the 869 is even that much better. glenn

GW, You did very well for $500.00!!! Ok 30 -1 and 30-10 uses needle system 332 or 135 x 17. 30-7 and 30-70 are both high lift versions. They need a longer needle. That needle system is 332LG for round points, 332 LL LG for leather points. You can get needles from Bob Kovar at Toledo Sewing. I have big sizes #160 and #180. The longer needles cost more I am afraid. What size thread you going to be using? Make sure you get parts list, operations manual and mechanics manual for the machine. I have found a much better way to use a servo motor on the Sutton stand with shoepatchers. The jack shaft in the stand originally is not nearly as good as a servo motor. I can walk you thru it. It will work much better Trust me. glenn

caperseven, Go to a #160 needle. The larger need will sew better and you will have less deflection. The needle mfg's say the smallest needle you can use with #138 thread is a #140. I always go up one size with the many different things i sew. I also use titanium coated needles. They work the best. You should be able to sew heavier than 8mm of leather with the 267 Adler unless it is hard leather! glenn

nice C!!! Durkopp mad the shoepatchers in 25 machine lots. The problem was parts from one lot would not necessarily work form one lot to the next. The number on it was a serial number part for that machine or lot. The parts sure look nice and cleaned up after being in the electrolysis tank!!! glenn -

Check the Consew 744 and the Juki LG-158. One or both should be compatible with the Singer 145. glenn

Durkopp Adler had 2 different screws for the tension spring and 2 different for the attaching screw depending on serial number of the machine. Seems like they made a running change sometime in production. Here are the numbers via the parts list I have. tension screw #992-10-746-8 or #992-02-351-0 attaching screw #992-12-255-8 or#992-02-350-0 Call Durkopp Adler Pfaff in Georgia and order from them. They take credit cards. glenn

The 767-FA-373 was Durkopp Adler's top medium duty flat bed walking foot machine until they came out with the 867. Both were the best machine made in their class. Not cheap new. The one you are looking at has thread trimmers and probably most of the toys, i.e. auto foot lift, back tack speed control, high lift knee pedal, etc. I have a 767-FA-573 which is the XXL bobbin. Great machine. Smooth as hell. more powerful than the Tecsew. You need air to run the functions unless it has been stripped. Very smooth. 1/2" lift under the foot minimum. Max. stitch length is 6-10mm depending on its age. Let's see pics if we can. glenn

You can actually run #207 on top on these machines. It will sew 10 mm depending on the hardness of the leather or material. I have sewn 10 mm items on them before. Again, this was not saddle leather. glenn

What color is he machine? I can give you a rough age based on the color. If you are looking for the knurl screw that you can lock the butterfly from turning, it is called a stop screw. I need the color of the machine to see which one it needs. i may have some. glenn
