  1. Do you have a parts list for the 345? I have one. A genuine hook will not be cheap. Part number is #91-014-192-31. A genuine hook if you an get it would cost over $300.00 Hirose and Cerliani both make aftermarket hooks. Very good quality. Used them for years. I will see what I can find and get back to. Can we get a few pics of the machine. glenn
  2. 29K60 really like the 29K72 which replaced it. A few parts are different but that is all. glenn
  3. Call Henderson Sewing and talk to them Lots of experience with Union Specials. glenn
  4. Your machine is a extra long high post version of a 68-72. Feet, hooks and a lot more from the 68-72 will fit your machine. Judging from the color of the machine, it was made in the 1980's. However, could be earlier as it might have been repainted. glenn
  5. pics will help I believe the Consew 733 and Seiko machines use the same feet. Call C.H. Holderby in Seattle. They deal in lots of industrial machines. glenn
  6. No the bobbin case opener is near the hook and it regulates the opening and closing of the thread as it flows around the hook. Get me a pic of your hook area. glenn
  7. WE used 2 of these machines in production. #138 top and bottom. Use #23 needles. The smallest needle you can use with #138 is #22/140. I prefer #23/160 needles . Less defection and the thread flows better thru the eyelet. We also used Organ or G-B titanium needles and they work better than the chrome plated Schmetz needles. In tensions discs on your machine, the most bottom one is the primary, the next up is the secondary and the top on is the auxiliary one. I used the bottom one the most to tight or loosen the the top thread tension. Also check the bobbin base opener to make sure it is not hold up the bobbin thread. glenn
  8. thanks Jimi for the heads up.
  9. As to thread size, yes. You need harness class machine to sew with #415 or #556 thread. glenn
  10. the Adler 169-373 0r -73 is a large bobbin medium duty walking foot cylinder arm. In the class of a 341 and Juki 1341 machine. Good machines. Your machine looks like it has only needle positioner on. I doubt is has air lift , back tack and trimmers. If that is the case, you are further ahead to replace the Efka motor with a new servo motor and needle positioner. I need to see more pics of the back of the machine. Great machines! I would buy but I work on machines. Call Durkopp/Adler America in Georgia and give them the part number mention in this post to see what a timing belt will cost. glenn
  11. Will sew 12oz. leather one thickness. Has old style clutch motor, old style light. Needs a little work and a few parts. Maximum thread this machine will sew with is #138 period. Not #207. looks decent. how much is he asking for it. glenn
  12. The #158 is 3/16 xx 28TPI screw like the #128, #145, #141. These screws are available in generic now. Originals very hard to find. I have both the parts book and the operations manual for the machine. They were part of the pack I got from a late Leatherworker contributor who passed away in early 2021. He wanted me to have this info. He restored a 45K25, 45K58, 45K69. Did a great job on the machines. His wife contacted me after he died and I got all the literature and a Claes RPX shoepatcher for money. Can you determine the part # that the screw fits in. That way I can identify the screw you need. the 45K21 had the foot on it. 45K25 was the same basic machine except that it had the roller feed on it. glenn
  13. Sorry. It's not in the back of the 1541 parts book but rather the 1508 book which I have because I have a machine. this is the same thread pin. glenn
  14. Not shown in parts book with the assembly. In the back of the book with accessories . Called a Needle thread guide pin Part #229-58300. glenn
  15. The screws on the needle bar clamp are toast! I would replace them. You have a part number for them? I have acquired a bunch of 45 K parts including feet. glenn

  17. If it works, that's all that counts. I have never seen a plain drawer on any Singer shoepatcher that was original. They all had a front that was milled with a knob in it. glenn.

  19. Not an original Singer drawer. Looks more like an Adler drawer. glenn
  20. I have the drawers for the short arm Singer treadle patchers. I had a an Amish company in Ohio build them to original Singer specs. Drawer sides are thicker than the singers were and they have dovetail joints on them. $28.50 US plus shipping. The long arm drawers are longer and wider. never had them made.. glenn
  21. 180 shim for size #180 needle, 200 for size #200 needle, 230 for #230 needle, etc. You can use a larger shim with a smaller needle BUT you CANNOT use a smaller shim with a bigger needle!!! glenn
  22. 1.- back the tension off the needle. What size needle and thread you using? 2. -needle is blunt you are using 3. Needle needs to be centered the feed dog hole from left to right and back to front. 4. Sub class Model of 45K? glenn
