  1. I would take the foot to someone with a 3D printer and have a prototype made out of plastic. Once that is done and you are satisficed, there are people out that with 3D printers that can print in metal. Cheaper thatn having it machined. If it works, get a couple made. People looking for the feet. glenn
  2. Glad you got it going. I have a operations manual for the 30-1. glenn
  3. The Singer and Adler use 7x1, 7x3 needles or 794. You might move to the needle system 1000 or 1001 needle system. The make needles up to #300 if I remember correctly, maybe even #330. It would mean retiming the needle bar. Thread above #556 may be harder to find. glenn
  4. Durkopp uses system #88 needles. The System 332LG or #332LLLG which is the leather point will work. You may not be able to get the #332lg needles in the needle hole because they have a shank size of 2.0mm. The #88 has a shank size of 1.90mm. Both needle systems the same accept for the diameter of the shank or top of needle. I have books on the #18 Durkopp class shoepatcher but one is in German. The 18 class that you have has a stationary shuttle. The 17 class has a rotary shuttle. both are good machines when operating. Do not put that big spool of thread on top of the machine. It will screw with your top tension. glenn
  5. that mount is and Efka motor mount. Nice job C! glenn
  6. yes contact Bob Kovar at Toledo sewing glenn
  7. OK I have a DA 669 eco. great machine. The one problem I had since I sew mostly with #138 is this. Adler borrowed the entire hook from their 367 machine since it was a horizontal hook in the flatbed. The largest needle you can use with it is a 150. Try finding that size. normally #140. I use a titanium coated #160 for what I sew. To use it, I had to remove the bobbin case basket. I took both carbide and diamond bits and enlarged the slot the needle goes down thru. i then went over it with silica carbide flat Mitchell cord to polish it up. I now can sew with either a #160 or 180 needle.no problem. No more frayed or cut thread. Why DA did not enlarge the slot from the beginning is beyond me. The 669 silver line with trimmers has a larger slot in it to accommodate the #180 needle. If you sew with #138 thread, you need to do this. I also think that leather made be a bit hard for this machine. for the hell of it, wet the leather and try sewing it and see if you still have tension problems glenn
  8. For what you paid for the machine, Sergey should have an operations manual available. Juki or Seiko make one anybody know? glenn
  9. that is correct as to loosening the shuttle carrier adjustment. the long drive rack in the horn is bent and is supposed to be. they also went to a different cam bolt and nut on the end and eliminated the pin like fount on a 29-4 can we see pics of the long bottom drive rack out of the machine and the shuttle carrier out of the machine? glenn
  10. I got the springs guys. glenn
  11. Probably the revolving bush #8573 is what normally wears. The needle bar hole normally wears left to right, not up and down. Screws worn? the revolving bush washer can be replaced. They are available. glenn
  12. Contact Shoe System Plus in New York or Gateway Shoe in St. Louis. They should have manuals. glenn
  13. Feet are out of sync. There is a big screw on top that you loosen. It will release the inner presser foot. Put inner presser foot all the way down until it touches the throat plate. Turn balance wheel until needle enters the inner presser foot and tip is at the very top of the throat plate. Now tighten the big top screw. Both the height of the walk of the inner and foot should now be the same. If not, you may have to fudge the the point the needle just before it enters the feed dog or just after it starts to enter feed dog to get the walk of the foot the same. glenn
  14. It is in reprograming the perimeters of the machine. QUICK Rotan was bought out by Pfaff many years ago. No longer made. You might contact Harvey at Dunlop Sales Electronic services division. They rebuild them and probably have manuals on the motor. He has been helpful to me in the past and rebuilt a quick motor for me. glenn
  15. ok D class for Heavy, L for leather, M for safety clutch, 6 for max. stitch length of 6mm. No P for 4 motion drop feed, No S for sewing cloth. How high does foot lift? H2 were 7mm. H3 were 11mm, H4 were high lift 14mm. Old one because it is black in color.
  16. If #1801 has a flat spot on it, the roller is worn. Should be round all the way around. Replace the stud and roller with a new one. The large top rack must be removed and there is a hole on the end that you insert a drive punch in and drive the old shaft out carefully. I always taper the the end of the new shaft on the sander just a little bit. The new shaft and roller must be driven into the old hole. You have to get a tapered pouch that fits into the tapered hole on the end of the roller to tape it in. If you do not and drive shaft and roller into the end of the drive rack, you will compress the peen on the roller and roller will not turn. That is important. glenn
  17. That machine is rare. It is a long arm 133K. You might contact Robert Collier for parts at Collier Equipment in Alabama. glenn
  18. Juki bought Nakajima about 20 + years ago. They made their own machines and also manufactured a lot of parts for Juki under contract. When Juki bought Nakajima, their engineers went thru all of the models of machines they manufactured. Each one was tweaked and upgraded. Some keep the same model number, some got new model numbers. The Juki 441, 341, 245,246 machine were originally made and designed by Nakajima. All three of those are very good machines today. glenn
  19. gordond, Machine looks fabulous.. Nice job. You got any 97x3 or 97x4 needles glenn
  20. There are people looking for the bottom needle guide and the one above the needle. You might consider making those for sale. glenn Coma44 Can we see pics of the 97-6. Is that head only or on the treadle that Singer made for the machine? glenn
  21. There are people looking for the bottom needle guide and the one above the needle. You might consider making those for sale. glenn
  22. You might try STP. that is what I use on the cam races. It is thicker than oil but thinner than grease. I find it work great as a lubricant in those areas. glenn
  23. Certain dealers can get them. Where are you located? glenn
  24. Anything from a 29K58 and up is good because you can get the parts be they generic or genuine. glenn
