  1. thanks Jimi for the heads up.
  2. As to thread size, yes. You need harness class machine to sew with #415 or #556 thread. glenn
  3. the Adler 169-373 0r -73 is a large bobbin medium duty walking foot cylinder arm. In the class of a 341 and Juki 1341 machine. Good machines. Your machine looks like it has only needle positioner on. I doubt is has air lift , back tack and trimmers. If that is the case, you are further ahead to replace the Efka motor with a new servo motor and needle positioner. I need to see more pics of the back of the machine. Great machines! I would buy but I work on machines. Call Durkopp/Adler America in Georgia and give them the part number mention in this post to see what a timing belt will cost. glenn
  4. Will sew 12oz. leather one thickness. Has old style clutch motor, old style light. Needs a little work and a few parts. Maximum thread this machine will sew with is #138 period. Not #207. looks decent. how much is he asking for it. glenn
  5. The #158 is 3/16 xx 28TPI screw like the #128, #145, #141. These screws are available in generic now. Originals very hard to find. I have both the parts book and the operations manual for the machine. They were part of the pack I got from a late Leatherworker contributor who passed away in early 2021. He wanted me to have this info. He restored a 45K25, 45K58, 45K69. Did a great job on the machines. His wife contacted me after he died and I got all the literature and a Claes RPX shoepatcher for money. Can you determine the part # that the screw fits in. That way I can identify the screw you need. the 45K21 had the foot on it. 45K25 was the same basic machine except that it had the roller feed on it. glenn
  6. Sorry. It's not in the back of the 1541 parts book but rather the 1508 book which I have because I have a machine. this is the same thread pin. glenn
  7. Not shown in parts book with the assembly. In the back of the book with accessories . Called a Needle thread guide pin Part #229-58300. glenn
  8. The screws on the needle bar clamp are toast! I would replace them. You have a part number for them? I have acquired a bunch of 45 K parts including feet. glenn
  9. JJN, You get your patent elastic up and running? glenn
  10. If it works, that's all that counts. I have never seen a plain drawer on any Singer shoepatcher that was original. They all had a front that was milled with a knob in it. glenn.
  11. Anyone have a Plough Gauge for Sale?? I have someone looking for one. Send me brand name and price please. Thank you glenn
  12. Not an original Singer drawer. Looks more like an Adler drawer. glenn
  13. I have the drawers for the short arm Singer treadle patchers. I had a an Amish company in Ohio build them to original Singer specs. Drawer sides are thicker than the singers were and they have dovetail joints on them. $28.50 US plus shipping. The long arm drawers are longer and wider. never had them made.. glenn
  14. 180 shim for size #180 needle, 200 for size #200 needle, 230 for #230 needle, etc. You can use a larger shim with a smaller needle BUT you CANNOT use a smaller shim with a bigger needle!!! glenn
  15. 1.- back the tension off the needle. What size needle and thread you using? 2. -needle is blunt you are using 3. Needle needs to be centered the feed dog hole from left to right and back to front. 4. Sub class Model of 45K? glenn
  16. First oil the linkage holding up. Send us a few pics of the back of the machine se we can instruct you what to do. glenn
  17. I have a 17 Durkopp manuals and parts list but not the 18. The 18 was a stationary shuttle shoepatcher. " Constabulary" on this site made a video of one he rebuilt. I suggest you contact him and see if ne has a manual. glenn
  18. 335 with toys and set up for binding. These honey and brown ones were made in mid to pate 1980's. small bobbin. i do not believe this has the new bigger G size hook. Front tension assembly and take up lever cover has been damaged. It needs some work but can be fixed.
  19. Contact Hoffman Brothers in Chicago. They bought Ferdco which was a later company but may have info. Send us pics of the machine and we can tell you what it is a clone of. glenn
  20. Try Bob Kovar at Toledo Sewing. weaver Leather on line
  21. No, feet are different unfortunately. Contact Kwok Hing. They have generic parts for the 69 binding feet, feed dog, throat plate. Lot cheaper than Adler. glenn
  22. evilblackdog, The unit on the back of the machine is called a Dimas unit. It was made by a company in Denmark for the 1295, 345, 335, 1245 to put toys on the machine. You can order the front stitch length plate and the reverse lever rod form Pfaff. You will also need a standard throat plate, feed dog, inner and outer feet. Save all the Dimas parts. I have worked on them and that unit is no longer made. You can remove the trim knife as well from near the hook. Take motor, control box off. Contact me with anymore questions. Obviously, you will need a servo motor. Save all parts.!! glenn
  23. Do you mean a Chandler 305-64? I do not know of a 303-64. If so, that was made in Japan by the old Chandler Company out of New York after they lost the Adler distribution right to sell Adler's here in this country. Copy of an Adler 105-64. I believe some Adler parts are still available. Can we see pics of the machine? glenn
