  1. Weaver leather had 205-370 stretched before they got the 969-100 machines. They had about of them done if I remember. Keestar is making the 205 Clone is three lengths for Weaver- 12", 16", and 25". glenn
  2. get her fixed? GLENN
  3. Look at the manual for centering the needle in the inner foot. That may be off. I would check that first with the stitch length set at 0. glenn
  4. weight of thread you are using?
  5. something hitting inside the machine? a part against a part?
  6. Looking at the comparison chart, none of those machines sew heavier than #207. If you are using 277, it is too heavy for that machine especially if you are trying to sew #277 and in reverse. The clearance is simply not there especially in reverse. Stick with #207 on top and #138 on the bottom. Some of the machines in your list will not sew past #138. glenn
  7. You have the instructions for oiling the machine? if not get them. Also, see if there are illustrations of the parts to oil. I would study all the oiling parts and oil the piss out of it. Make sure the pressure on the feet is not too high. I am always amazed on how many sewers do not get the operations manual, parts manual and if available, the mechanics or engineering manual. These are critical if you are sewing on a a sewing machine. I have preached this to so may sewers over the years. You need the manuals!!. Not a question of if but WHEN. I am not saying you are one of the them DBZ456. But this info is essential if you what to learn your machine. Really helps on locating the oiling points.
  8. show me pics of the binder front and back not on the machine please. glenn
  9. That thread is bigger than 277 I believe. You do not want to exceed 207. glenn
  10. A whine at high speed might indicate a bearing going bad. I would oil the snot out it, let it set for 24 hours and then try it again. There may be an area that was missed when oiling so check the manual. Should be the same as a Singer 111W155. glenn
  11. Tell me what you are looking for in a binder specially. I have set up binders on and off for over 30 plus years glenn
  12. Nakajima 280 became Juki DU-241. Hope that helps. glenn
  13. Binder may have to be custom made. Check to see what Kwok Hing has in Hong Kong. Your Seiko should be same as Consew 277 machine. glenn
  14. Yes as to the photo. You can adjust the feed dog left to right to center the needle in the middle of the hole in the feed dog. Move the cover plate and that gets you access to the feed dog screws. Pics of the head on your machine please. The SL-71 was one Landis had built. It is a clone of a 29K71. Parts should be interchangeable. glenn
  15. Pics of the head first please so I can see the feet and the cover pate set up. If it is 335-17, that is the binder machine. For repalming, you need it set up to sew on the edge of the of the fingers. A binder will do binding but will make sewing other parts very hard. send me a few pics please. I can help you set it corcrrectly. Bend doing to it a few years. You may need the plain sewing parts. I also repair shoepatchers. glenn miller
  16. Turn the dial it all the way and test it for the amount of take up lift in the lever. Then turn it all the other way and check. This should tell you which end of the scale it for less and greater. Choose somethin in the middle. Singer engineers in their stupid thought over engineered this part so that it it way to complicated to dial it in. The older way was much simpler on the early versions of the 29K58,60,62. None of the clone machines made today use the complicated dial on the later machines. Keep it simple stupid as they say. Anybody needing parts to the more modern take up lever adjustment, I found a source for them. glenn
  17. The Genuine Nakajima 341 became the Juki 341. Neither was a hybrid. glenn
  18. So sorry to hear that.
