Being a smoker, I have been trying to figure out how to add a cigarette lighter to my bike. Well, the other day I found a old accessory plug in thing for the car in the garage, and it has a built in lighter. How cool... so to figure out how to add it to the bike... my tank bib had snaps on it from a bag I had mounted on it a while ago, so i figured I would use those to mount it to the tank... I didnt dye ot antique it like the hand grips I made so it would turn darker brown faster. Then I will apply Aussie to it when it darkens to match the other tan on the seats... Whatcha think?

You need to know a few things before starting a tool bag.... first, how is it going to attach to the bike? Some bikes you attach it to the fork tubes, some you attach to the lightbar, and some others attache in some other unique way. Then you need to know if it is going to attach to the lightbar, what are the measurements that will work? is the light bar close to the fender, or is there room to mount it? are the ambers hanging down under the aux lights on the light bar? will the bag fit between them? if so, whats the max space I can use... so on and so forth... Good luck.

I have been using Skype for a few years. Used to use Yahoo messenger for group voice conversations, but for some reason it says my audio is broken so i switched to Skype and havent had an issue with it. I use it mainly to stay in contact with a friend of mine who is in France. we talk to eachother as if we were in the same room.

antique
wolvenstien replied to figthnbullrider's topic in Dyes, Antiques, Stains, Glues, Waxes, Finishes and Conditioners.
I have had issues in applying antique paste as well. Finally Johanna clued me in on a way that DOES work for me. Apply in small areas with fur. I cant find wool, so I use the Rabbits fur tandy sells as wool... apply in small areas, and when I reapply from the jar to the fur, I start back on an area I have already covered. go over the whole area that i want covered and then buff it and clean off anything that was left behind (on the smooth areas) and then cover with my finish. I have not had the opportunity to use this on a carved piece. But it works great with smooth leathers. -
Did you lift the cheek bones from the eye sockets? and the brow above the eyes from the eye sockets too? What did you use to weather resist it? Very cool piece to repeat Beeza

Yeah, Thursday they announced on the news that Ivan would cause fuel prices to rise.... everyone hit the stations.... me too, but I could only afford $20 at $3.49. Last night I had to run to my Uncles and on the way there and back i watched the station prices... Ranged from $3.79 to $4.11..... really sucked... and still does...

Have you tried Ohio travel bag? Tandy I know has NP but not sure if they carry brass.
-
is the curved needle you have a "brass" or steel needle?
-
No, gluing is not an option. What I am doing is my motorcycle seat. I have the seats finished with wet molded leather and now i want to add the tooled top pieces. The idea of the bent needle makes me think about when i did almost the same thing I did once before and i used the perma-lok needles and bent them, but they kept breaking on me. I have since bought a pack of the flat lasing needles but I have not bent them. I was thinking that maybe there was a needle made just for something like this where the lasing needle was already bent in the angle that i would need.

I will have to take pix of mine once I have gotten back in there and done some real work. I just spent about a week cleaning it up totally.... vacuumed under my slab and everything... ABN, you are welcome to come to my house and do a little "straightening" LOL
-
I need help in figuring out how to attach a piece of leather over another piece of leather that is already mounted and I have no access to the back side, so it would need to be laced completely from the front. Also, how would you put the holes for the lasing in the mounted piece? Drill? Thanks... Mike

What Johanna said about grabbin pix is true. I have yet to find a pic I wanted to keep in my private collection that I could not get... and the scrips that disable right clicks are just irritating... go to the mouse settings and most of the scrips (or atleast a few years ago) you could change the button functions from right to left and there you go... These days, they only thing that is effective is watermarking.... not just putting a site name or whatever across the pic (this in itself is effecting, but you cant track it) and adding a pixel to the pic that is loaded to your server. when the picture loads on someone elses page, your server logs the ip and any other info it can of where it was loaded from. They steal the pic, but the pic is embeded with the pixel. You can track them and do whatever you need to to get them to take you pic down. I have read of a method that works somewhat the same just from a PC... if I "steal" one of your pix for my personal collection, every time I open the pic, it essentially "calls home" and I am logged by your server with my IP addy... is this the belt that belongs to Mr. Main? I see the right lower side of the pic is kind of blacked out... and I know Mr. Main puts his signature on the lower right of all his pix he shares with us.....

LOL Yeah... Stainless is one of the harder to drill. I came into the same situation a short while back. I had several stainless coasters, about 4 inch across, and about a 1/4 inch thick. I had titanium bits that I figured would be cool to use with my drill press. I melted them. I then used a "FOR METAL" bit I got in a package for tapping metal... it melted worse then the titanium bits... I started to call around to the local metal shops to see if I could get one of them to cut the holes I needed. I finally got to talk to a shop boss and explained the situation to him and explained i needed them done by 6 that evening. He had already closed the shop but would be happy to call someone back in to do it, but we were talking a couple hundred dollars just for 12 holes. Then he offered to leave me a COBALT bit at the receptions desk for me to come by and pick up. I ran over there and got the cobalt bit and ran back to the house to drill the holes... It melted on me too. So needless to say, I did not get the holes drilled. But I do know cobalt and titanium bits will not work on cutting holes in 1/4 inch stainless.... Good luck, and please post back when you find something that works. guess i took longer than Bruce and Steve.... What type of cooling lube you talking about? Like I said... the cobalt melted on me...

Chrome EULA updated by overwhelming demand and outrage:::: Update to Google Chrome's terms of service 9/04/2008 11:22:00 AM Whenever we release a product in beta as we just did with Google Chrome, we can always count on our users to come up with ways to improve it. This week's example: several eagle-eyed users and bloggers have expressed concern that Section 11 of Google Chrome's terms of service attempts to give us rights to any user-generated content "submitted, posted or displayed on or through" the browser. You'll notice if you look at our other products that many of them are governed by Section 11 of our Universal Terms of Service. This section is included because, under copyright law, Google needs what's called a "license" to display or transmit content. So to show a blog, we ask the user to give us a license to the blog's content. (The same goes for any other service where users can create content.) But in all these cases, the license is limited to providing the service. In Gmail, for example, the terms specifically disclaim our ownership right to Gmail content. So for Google Chrome, only the first sentence of Section 11 should have applied. We're sorry we overlooked this, but we've fixed it now, and you can read the updated Google Chrome terms of service. If you're into the fine print, here's the revised text of Section 11: 11. Content license from you 11.1 You retain copyright and any other rights you already hold in Content which you submit, post or display on or through, the Services. And that's all. Period. End of section. It will take a little time to propagate this change through the 40+ languages in which Google Chrome is available, and to remove the language in the download versions. But rest assured that we're working quickly to fix this. The new terms will of course be retroactive, and will cover everyone who has downloaded Google Chrome since it was launched. Yeah, thats just scary as hell.... I am an adult, I do look at adult type things.... nothing illegal.... but still.... me submitting to this is like me submitting to random warrentless wire tapping of my phone.... sorry.... not in my back yard.... Too much blood has been spilled for me to have the rights I have as an american citizen to just say I am ok with it because I have nothing to hide. Me not having anything to hide is not the point....

rdb has a point about the end user agreement. This has been the focus of some heated discussion the past few days. As rdb also said.... I too will be sticking with FF until they change the EULA to where I am not an unpaid employee or prisoner of theirs. Here are afew quotes from the EULA: "By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any content which you submit, post or display on or through, the services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the services and may be revoked for certain services as defined in the additional terms of those services." And that is directly from the end user agreement.....
