Thanks all for the suggestions... as it turns out... I figured up the fuel cost for my little trip... that and lodging and food... there is no way I can go with fuel being 3.30 to 3.50 a gallon... Sux.... So I am calling off the trip until I can actually afford to go...

I am repairing to take a trip from Chattanooga Tn to Mariette Ohio in the next couple of weeks. And I am wanting to turn it into a Leather trip..... So... I need suggestions from you folks on places I can stop... I dont mind going off track a bit.... so dont worry about that.... just give me suggestions on places.... Thinking about stopping in on Johanna to see just how good the coffee is too..... LOL

I posted this before the crash.... and wasnt able to get a place to get the hardware, so i am posting again. I went and bought the Tandy windshield bag kit thinking I would steal the hardware out of the kit.... Low and behold all the hardware is already installed to the leather.... the only thin you need to do to the kit is lace the gussets together.... So... I still need to find a place to get these hardware brackets... Pix attached are from and old project that I canabalized the brackets from....

Smuckers or Weavers auctions? Please elaborate. The Tippmann I was looking at is already up to 911.00 with another day and a half to go on the auction..... so it is pretty much out of my reach....

I think a cylinder arm would suit me better for sewing gussets onto small bags and what not. plus.... with a cylinder arm I can make a flat bed out of laminated wood.... remove it when i need the cylinder and put it back when i dont... I found a Tippman on fleabay starting at 500 with 40 shipping from LA.... 2 days left on it.... cross your fingers for me that I win it... I do not mind it being manual... when i use my current light duty machine I only use the motor when sewing fabrics.... when I am doing any thickness leather I crank the wheel by hand so i can control it better and put the needle where i want it.

I think everyone on the list is lucky to get something made from someone else..... regardless of the experience or expertise... I know I am probably at the bottom of the barrel myself, but I will put love and dedication into what I make for CitezenKate, and I know what I get from Beaver will be made the same way.... I think it is just too cool to have something from another leatherworker.... especially when it was made for you specifically in mind....

I am sorry to have been a "Squeaky Wheel"...... I only asked to receive from BeaverSlayer because he makes alot of items that I am interested in learning from. Thats the only reason.... I know Cailfornia has issues with selling items with Roo in it.... but I dont think there would be an issue with someone mailing something with roo in it to somone in califorina..... there is no money exchanging.... no roos died for profit... LOL

Ok, Tina, If I am reading you right, you are saying you will send to tazzman, and tazzman sends to wildrose, and wildrose sends to cecil, and cecil to Johanna and so on until it gets to clayB who is at the bottom, and he sends to you since you are at the top? (depending on shipping method and distance of course).
