Very thankful for this Drac.... Sorry I left you hanging last weekend... we finally got to the Convention center around 6pm due to traffic and all... then from there we went to Boomers in Marrietta... and stayed until 2:30 or so... didnt make it back home until around 5 in the morning...

Tom, you can buy Pecards off their website: http://www.pecard.com/store.php/ And I was thinking the same exact thing the other day while thinking about what to use to finish/seal my seats... it is just like a saddle, what do saddle makers use to seal their seats?

I think that is good advice for anything that you make for wearing....
-
Thank you WildRose! Yeah, I forgot about the hubub... I was thinking that because it was free... no biggie.... but I forgot about the mess a while back with the "free" stuff...

I cannot find this rose pattern on Tandys site under the patterns/tips, so could you upload a pattern? I would like to make this for my wife for Valentines....

Pix would be nice..... You are going to get alot of advice here, and you will probably only be able to try one.... maybe two... My advice is to put it in a freezer for a week or two. Put in a plastic bag, and put it in the freezer. Smells are supposed to come from bacteria and bacteria is not supposed to be friendly with cold.... The same advice is used for smelly shoes...

Very nice David...... I would be very proud to have that seat on my bike.... just so happens I wear a large POW/MIA back patch on my vest.

Welcome to the board Krains. As for a sewing machine... I cant help much... I have a Brother 1950's era and there is no way it will sew anything thicker than say 3/16 of an inch... and that is not hard material and using the hand crank.... i have broken way too many needles trying to use the motor...

Hard spots... it happens.... Welcome to the site, I see this is your first post.... When you say "round knife" do you mean a head knife: or a rotary knife: Reason I ask, I find that my Rotary (round) knife has problems cutting through the hard spots where my Head (crescent) Knife usually doesnt. But I dont usually cut 13oz leather either.

I really dont know how to answer you Pete. I did a simple up over down under up over from hole to hole, and then a second strand was used to snake around and up through and around and up through each of the loops. Dont know if there is a proper name for this or not. Thanks for the kind words. Mike

Ok, I think I have chosen a color.... let me know what you think please.... This is a test of using Atom Wax as a finish.... what do you feel about using atom wax as a finish for a seat?
-
Oscar, Thank you! Do you happen to have it in a larger picture size?

I dont think its the pix at all... I think it is either my system or my service.... normally, with my connection it could be an 8 meg pic and still open win just a second.... Connection seems to be working great at the moment, but when i posted this, it was slow.... I went to google and a few other sites and seemed fine... but I didnt go to a bandwidth meter site to check it.....
