Thanks for the help. I guess my searching skills aren't worth a dang.

I'm going to resole some boots and try my hand at making some shoes but I haven't found a good supplier after many google searches. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried many different finishes for seats. My personal bikes all sit outside under motorcycle covers and I've had more than one seat rot away by trying different products to finish / protect the seats. I've had the most success with the following combination. I thoroughly coat the leather with neatsfoot oil two or three times before I tool the piece. Coating both sides of the leather. I let the neatsfoot oil dry completely then tool the seat. After all tooling and dyeing are complete I use Kiwi neutral shoe polish to finish the seat. Then I use Kiwi mink oil to condition after the seat has been on the bike for awhile. I try to apply mink oil often maybe every 6 weeks or so. After the mink oil is absorbed hit it with neutral shoe polish and it'll be nice and shiny like a new penny.

I use closed cell neoprene from http://www.foamforyou.com/ I haven't used a gel insert yet but the next seat I do for myself will be my test seat with gel. Man your work is bad ass! Do you need to use anything special to ensure the acrylic paint doesn't rub off on the riders pants? It is acrylic paint you're using correct?

Looks good you're on your way now. I would suggest that you use some sort of backgrounder tool outside of the design. That will make the design stand out more also background the negative space in the design like the area between the scull and the pistol. Antique gel also will help the design stand out more. That's all I got.

That came out nice. I almost always use Mexican basket weave also it is my favorite lacing pattern.

Just finished a solo seat.

Everything looks good. I do have one recommendation. Don't sew across the width of the belt right at the buckle, when a belt is sewn there it can lead to the belt ripping right at that seam. Think of that portion similar to a perforated piece of paper very easy to tear. There are many examples of ways to attach a buckle on a belt on this form. I use Chicago screws ( http://rivetsonline.com/binder-posts.html?sef_rewrite=1 ) that way if the new owner wishes to change the buckle they may.

How does that acrylic hold up with use on a seat?

Nice. You use white often and I was just wondering what you use to get the color? I'm assuming acrylic of some sort?
